Website Review and Suggestions

Hi Guys,
I have recently launched a web design blog: Webblitz. I am wondering if I should place a photo of myself on the homepage?

Also would like some feedback about the general design? i.e. do you think it looks too ‘wordy’ with the quote at the top of home page? Should I add a graphic and/or slogan in the header?

Oh, I adore your blog.
Yeah, you can place a photo of yourself on the homepage if you have a good, professional one.

I'll cast the first byte

I don't like the combined fonts used in the right side of your header, especially the quote. Why don't you put the advert in that area and reduce the header size in the same time.. or at least center the advert.

The links in the top-div could be a bit larger. You need to style the images in your posts and lose the dotted underline which disappears on hover. Try to use the same color of links in the sidebar.

Image optimization on the main page could save ya 467.9KB (63% reduction). There are other optimization techniques you could use as well but that's not related to design.

Really nice design. Only thing I'd recommend is making the unhovered menu items black. The pink on pink is hard to see.

Good looking theme, if a bit generic. Perhaps mention via tag line what your blog is about
