Website Review and Suggestions

Please take a look – suggestions , comments welcome

I have been working on my site for years now with limited success

I have been with SBI now for 5-6 years & have 2 websites one which I recently sold as even though I put a LOT of work into it , it did not make me much money.
My Victoria website has made me a little money just enough to warrant me keeping it going.
The problem I have with it is as it’s a travel related website it is seasonal & as some of you know the income goes up & down.
I would like to begin another website possibly with SBI as you know there pricy in comparison to other hosts , Yes I realize SBI does more for you ... but as I am on a disability income my funds are limited & so I can only afford so much.

Who would you consider a good web host (besides SBI) Also is there any out there who will help you get going like SBI but are less expensive ? . In a nutshell I would like one that is reliable , inexpensive $ 100 or less per year & one that has a GREAT site builder that is easy to use as I will be having my niece help me .

Could I ask you a favour whenever you get the time could you please take a look at my website & tell me if there is anything I could do to improve my earnings from it.

I dontknow if its just my server.. but it took forever for it to load right.. i had to refresh it once....to improve your earnings.. i would suggest using a social media page to improve your traffic.. alot of them are free

The thing I always preach is to have a professional design. That will make you look more professional retaining your audience and delivering your messages properly...

So here are some things. Your landing page needs to be revamped to give me a quick snap shots for the highlights of your site.

Fonts on the left menu is not super legible.

The grouping of side menu is terrible. I don't even know what I'm looking at. You need levels of hierarchy or simplified.

the colour scheme needs some work - that red is far too bright for major elements (nav, header) use it as a link colour (but turn it down a bit) and

ditto the nav - awful long list that's hard to read and is uncategorised

main pic is, er, of some plants that could be from anywhere, and some 1970s looking photo of, er anywhere

get to the point of the site in a sentence or three then get chatty - tell me how you can solve my problems with visiting BC i.e. i'm missing out on things, and how as a native you can show me all the wonderful stuff

your header is messy - it has patches of 'dirt' that look like jpeg compression artefacts (even though it's a gif)

btw why not look for a reasonable host - should be easy for less than 100 dollars a year and use wordpress to make a new site?
