Yes, The Logo does not make sense, so does the Register and Login button. It makes your website look like designed by a newbie - Change the look. You should look at Google for a ' Free web templates ' and get some ideas. Check out your competitors and see if they have a better web design that you, learn from your mistakes and try again. You will never fail.

Good Luck

logo: you know about

not quite enough contrast on the navbar text ( i like the background)

favicon different to logo

search graphic is tacky. leave a message graphic looks uninviting cos it's grey

site laid out in tables for non-data information - about 10 years out of date

blinking advert (look at the page for a few seconds and your eye is drawn to the advert, ok back to 'hey look there's something blinking. oh it's that', back to the 'heck it's still blinking ... ' and so on...

all the buttons are different styles, have poorly cut out edges and all look like the (very) usual stock graphics

login and register is duplicated

all centred text looks bad - it's harder to scan and floats in the space looking lonely

no real headings

nothing is lined up with anything else. poor visual hierarchy

text as images when could be real text

it looks like different bits of other sites taken and randomly arranged on the page

Ok i fixed the favicon, stopped the "blinking advert" and removed the "login and register is duplicated" i tried to line up everything... and changed the logo..

does it look any better now?

Thanks for all the tips

bit better

logo is just a header - you can't use that kind of horrible MSN style clipart for a logo.

register now and login buttons are still different styles

employers and workers images aren't smooth edged. workers text is horizontally distorted

post/get a job are badly put together and cutout

lists are still centred text

i'll knock something up quickly if i have time and post back. it's a bit better but most of the problems are still there

quick idea :

you can use real text for the Employers - post a micro job, etc

folder here has the ready optimised graphics in http://pp.kpnet.fi/prescott/stuff/centworkers/

p.s. i made the get started free button in the same style/colours as the register

I would say that colors are too bright ... I suggest to make them softer!
Structure needs to be developed I think!
Picture on the top-left corner is with inappropriate size!
