Website Review and Suggestions

This may be a re-post but last time i timed out when trying to post.

I made this site yesterday and today for my WWW Apps final. Just wanted to see what people think. I'll probably end up hosting it later when i can afford a host.

Hi,

It's not a bad design, but I don't much like the colour of your background image, and I find each page takes a surprisingly long time to load, sometimes leaving me wondering whether the link I clicked actually works.

I'd also reccommend that you provide a non-Flash version of the site, unless you are quite sure that you don't need to worry about members of your audience who prefer to avoid it.

It looks pretty good. I mean the overall layout is good, but it's awfully dark. Do you like green? I think if you wanted this to be compared to a "resume" type site then you might consider brighter colors. The navigation is easy and the page loaded quick.

I also agree with Oolong about having an html and flash version.

Might also consider a more legible font. Even though the one you are using is pretty, it could be difficult for some people to read it.

Good job though, keep up the good work!

8.0 Excellent website - all expectations met.

although, what is the purpose of this website? .. is it a "PORTFOLIO" site, showing your works?

Got to say though, well designed website, i like the transitions between content. Also your "Knowledge Base" is good, you sound like you know allot.

For right now its just a site i threw together for a final exam in my class. I plan on someday having it like a "portfolio" site, but i would have to make some revisions.

Hi,

First thing I noticed was the time it took to load the initial flash,

I like the layout and it's quite well coded - the green doesn't fit however.

I love the HTML tickertape on the back, very fitting.

Not a bad design, but the layout looks sort of "out of place" how the page is set up on the black. Instead of using the black background try using a green/black gradient or something and Putting a drop shadow on the rectangle layout. Might give it a kick, know what i mean?

I like it - I like the tickertape. Its a personal site so a place to be a little different & indulgent so if you like the colours then great. I like the use of iframe to contain text on the right & the occasional use of additional graphics overlaid on the original flash.
Yes the flash took time to load initially but hey u just wait don't u.

Can't say I can see the tickertape, but the design is sound.

One thing I would suggest would be to get rid of the bright white text and comments box at the bottom (possibly give comments it's own section?) and move the flash movie to the center of the page.

Not a bad idea, just poorly executed in my opinion. The colors need to flow more, have a more simplistic professional design would have been my choice

fix the scheme color 7/10. yea the dark green needs to be changed
