I took at look at and was ready to give my opinion but its only a graphic (not a layout). To me the layout is the graphics and the coding combined.

Its not easy to review a graphic. I recommend you to coding your template. And use not many borders

Looks reasonable enough to me. I'm not too keen on the beveled buttons, but that's a matter of opinion I suppose.

OK dont get angry your probably a better designer than me but you wanted someone to review hard.

Yoursite.com is totally basic, just a bog standard font, grab some nice fonts online if your gonna use a font to leave your site name.
The Background in which the logo/header is in is terrible. i mean it looks like one of those cheap kalidoscopes you can buy for like 50cents.

The buttons are like something you would find on a free webhost, default template.

Basically start again.

But lets see some live action.

What would i do to make this better?

1) Get a cool nice font that looks good and make it centered on the header.

2) Combine the "Your Slogan here with 4 pictures underneath related to the site" straight under the 4 pictures have 4 related google adverts (the 4 pictures alligned perfectly so the sponsored advert looks as if its with the picture" causes people to click more.

3) drop the button on white background, why not make this some fancy nice drop down menu? But no backround have the buttons the whole length across and square.

4) Have your side menu on the left?

Just my opinions dont mean to upset

Hi,

the links look a bit... disembodied - I'd prefer to see them continue as a bar, maybe with a gradient like this:

As harro says, the image in the header isn't too good. If you've got photoshop there are loads of tutorials showing you how to make abstract images that would look good in its place.

If you plan on starting a web design company, you need to do alot better than that. The first chance people have to evaluate how good you are at web design is by judging how good YOUR website is. If your company has a basic website, what is to make prospective customers think you can do better for them?

It's not bad Wmtalk.tk, the top graphic is very pretty and something different too, instead of the same thing. You have a real nice graphic software program, you will be able to do some really awesome things with the software, which you already have accomplished.
