I prefer the first one. The second looks like it's been attacked by brushes.
But outside of that. They are both good. They both look like they could work well in a graphic designers site or for a rock band. The image is great.
Although, I do think the second one needs a little more work, as someone said, the white doesn't do anything for the layout. An off white may look better.
