Hey. I'm about to launch this site, hopefully next week if the client will get me the necessary info. Please review and hold nothing back. I know some of the products don't have correct prices or full descriptions, but I'm waiting for them. Feel free to send through orders, as the credit card transactions are still going through a test server. Of course, don't use real card numbers .

Texas Silver Rush

Thanks in advance!

Hi Omega,

The site's looking good. Has it gone live yet? The header graphic has a very rustic look/feel. It's slightly too wide for 800x600, though.

To match the top image, I would suggest using different shades of browns for links, virtical dividers, and the bottom (copyright) bar background color. This would definitely add to the theme that the header suggests.

Some of the headers (<H*> tags) are in different fonts. I don't know if this is the script you're using to generate the database lookups, or if it's just the way it was designed on purpose. I noticed that all of the "static" pages (i.e. product line main description pages, policies, about, etc.) the header tags use Arial (or some sans-serif variant), while all pages using database queries use Times.

Also, when the browser window is maximized, it looks odd because the header and footer abruptly ends and the middle (content) section has no is all open on the right. It gives it a sort of "incomplete" look. Maybe a border on the right edge, or better yet, a border in conjunction with a background image/color (out side of the main table, of course) to make the main content stand out a bit more.

All in all, though, looking pretty good.

First Impression
Great banner, gets you in the mood to see western type thingamabobs.. .

Good Things
- Very simple navigation
- No cluttered banner ads or annoying animations
- Comprehensive and professional looking
- No POP UP boxes! They make me leave any site, no matter how famous. I'm glad you don't have any.

Not So Good Things
- Maybe just a touch more color somewhere, though I can't say where would make it a bit more comfortable
- The view shopping cart button up on the banner is strange, maybe it should be down with the other links?

Load Times and Technical Monkeyness
- Load time was quick. I am on a T1 so ths doesn't tell ya much.
- Fatal Error: No DOCTYPE specified! This may come into play in the future and should be included on any professional site
- Try running Validator once you've got the doctype tag in there

Overall Chicken Rating: 8

Very nicely done. I had to struggle to come up with anything that was 'Not So Good'. I can't wait until you're live so I can get some stuff!

Well it's loading very fast for me, but then again i'm on a cable modem and it's 4 o'clock in the morning.

It might be an idea to have a few things for sale on the homepage. I'm not sure all that white space under the search box is a good idea.

Other than what i've just said, i can't think of anything else to say. It looks good and runs fast.

Look and layout is very nice, the top logo is a bit smeared though, and load time is good. My only real suggestion is that you put on the index a little bit about the store, background or what it is they provide or something --> make it easier for the customer.

I would make about us the mainpage.
