Website Review and Suggestions

It is really important that visitors immediately understand what a web site is for. If a visitor does not understand it within 10-15 seconds... then click... goes away!

I kindly ask you to make a web site review test in two steps:

First: visit my site just for few seconds, count up to 15, then close the page and tell me what is your feeling. What is this site for? What you think is my target audience?

Second: Take a look at the listed benefits. Would a web master care about any of them? Are they credible for you?

My review

1) You domain name realy reflects your site nature, soeven before the page loaded totally, I alredy had an idea of what it was about. Then when i saw the page title i was sure it was a tell a friend service.

2) Yes i belive on what you say. It´s good to have a way for people to easily tell their friends about our sites. Althought we all know that if someone doesn´t like a site he/she wouldn´t reccomend it even with the $500 prize

It took too long to understand that your site is designed to help websites promote themselves by getting the visitors to refer the site to their friends.

I didn't know where to look when I opened up your page. The title 'What do YOU Sell? Want to Sell More?' SCREAMS for attention, so I looked at it. But I still had to read it several times and then still wasn't sure what it was about.

Then my eyes looked for something else to give me a clue. I glanced down at 'Your Benefits', but I wasn't ready for that since I didn't know the basics. So I looked at the multi-color menu in the left, which starts with a sign in button.

I was lost and would have left if I wasn't reviewing the site.

I just went back to it to find constructive thoughts to provide. But am having trouble finding where to start.

You need to start with a very simple clear title, perhaps: 'Visitor Referal Tool'. Or even take the tag line 'Let Your Visitors Recommend Your Web Site' and move it to the top.

Then a very short paragraph describing that a site's visitor refers the site to their friends. Followed by a few bullets.

I did the 15 seconds test..

First text I saw is: What do YOU Sell? Want to Sell More?
(My opinion: It's not what that should be emphized)

Then I told myself: I missed something or what?... so I've look at the top expecting to see what its all about...

Then my eyes went directly to your EMPTY blue area

I havent seen at all the text: ( The Tell a Friend Tool for Your Web Site ) ... Reason why : no other text on your page starts/is aligned like this sentence.

The 'demo' and 'Try now' button had no interest to me since I don't even know what I should try...

I finally understood the idea of the site with the text : Let Your Visitors Recommend Your Web Site Get Your Empowered Tell a Friend Tool Now ... at the BUTTOM of your page...

Your list of benefits have good ideas but it should be worded better with common terms/ KEYWORDS

Your empty blue spot is IMPORTANT, use it to write something like THE FREE TELL-A-FRIEND TOOL THAT PAYS
make it Flashy and use a smilly or small picture just before the sentence to catch surfer attention

Your comments, suggestion and corrections are very helpful. As a consequence I have prepared a draft of a new home page.

It partially addresses the color issue, the issue related to the main heading text and the typos.

I would love to hear your impression before I publish the new home page.

Which one do you like the most?

I would say your site is basicly pretty good. Your domain name says it all, so I knew what to expect. You offer a demo, show customization, it's neet and clean.

However, I would highlight, perhaps in yellow, the words "tell a friend", since every webmaster knows what that means.

Which brings us to the one big problem I did find. I've used several tell-a-friend scripts, and they are all free. The minute I see "pricing" in the nav bar, I'm outa here. Perhaps you need to call it the super-charged Tell A Friend system and state up front what makes this more effective than the freebies.
