Website Review and Suggestions

I have had this up & running (and doing fairly well on sales) for almost a year now.

It is osCommerce based. I am trying to revamp it a bit for SEO & for user-friendliness.

I know it has CSS errors - I cleaned it up today as best as I could & removed about 200 errors (wow!).

I also have a cluttered footer - but many of those links are exchanges for directories, etc.

Please give an honest review as if you were a shopper.

i'm usually short so here i go:

theme looks nice but the areas aren't well defined.
the text under the banner doesn't really fit with the rest of the fonts
hover color on "log in" and similar links is too close to the backround and thus hard to read.
try to give ALL the links on the left side the same look, it's confusing and looks like you took pieces of different things and just threw them all together.

i don't mean to be rude or harsh, i just say things as they come to me

anyway, good luck with it, hope i'll have the time for a more in depth visit next time :S

Fixed #2, #3 & #4 (I think #4).

Could you elaborate a bit more on your point #1?

well ... on the squares which show the parfumes, try this as background color: #FFFFF0 ... or this: #FFFAF0 ... couldn't come up with something "greenish"

... they have no border on the outside, which makes them look like they interract with the left and right areas.

as for 3. ... personal taste: try removing the underline in the links completely, and switch the hover and active colors.

number 4. : you have som elinks there ... "Home", "Candles" .... make them the same style as the ones beneatch ... if you want them different, use the same style but use a slightly greenish tone on the dotted arrow graphic ... dunno if i make myself clear at this late hour :S

also, the box with "Most Popular Designer Perfumes & Designer Colognes - Brand Name Fragrances List" i'd also suggest makeing it 100% width, loose the left and right borders and use very dim colors as backgrounds. preferably greenish tones to fit your theme.

It looks like a site fairly well organized and established.

My two cents...

1. The font & size lacks consisteny across the site.
2. The color combination is a little pale. Can be made a little attractive with color-experimentation.

the huge list of keywords at the bottom give the impression that they are links but they are not.
the design is very nice and the site is attractive
you have liberally used capital letters.
better to use small letters instead of capital letters.
images are well optimised.
