Hi,

I've completely redesign my rowing club team website and I'd like to know approximately how much it worth.

Site: http://www.mcgillcrew.com

Features include:

* CSS (Tableless) New Design
* Photo Gallery (Coppermine) matching the site design
* Discussion Board (theSMF)
* Content Management System (Modx) with integration with both the gallery and the forum
* Admin/Exec/Member section...
* Complete Alumni database where execs/rosters/results/trophies/rowers/olympians/ usernames are all linked
* Easy-to-use user interface to modify the alumni DB (In Admin section)
* Recruiting / Store form with results being sent by email and also stored in exec section
* Upcoming Events/News
* Results Searchable Interface
* File Manager section where people can upload/download files (PHPFileNavigator)
* Section that allows to retrieve the Alumni List in Excel Format (CSV)
* Full statistics (awstats) in admin section
* Text was not changed from previous website, but structure and designed were completely redone

~ 200-250 hours of volunteer work, a bit more than 10,000 lines of PHP Code used + several packages included + user documentation

--> How much do you think the website would cost if it wasn't volunteer work?
--> Any suggestions or review?

i cant say about the worth of the site.
regarding the site, it looks well designed and professional.
better to make the color of the links on left side menu reddish brown. because throught the main page you have used the same color for the links.
coding is also good

It's not a bad site, but 200-250 hours of work?!?!?!?!?! Come on, dude. You gotta be joking on that...or you maybe moved a decimal over one too far to the right.

That's maybe 40-50 hours' worth of work tops. And to be totally honest, it's not "worth" anything. In order for a site to have value, it has to have a price someone else would buy it for. And where would the market be for something like this? There isn't one.

I'm not saying it's bad...I'm just saying you spent way too much time on it and that it doesn't have a market value, that's all.

A very simple design, I like how your website incorporated a logo as well as a picture. McGill University Rowing is hard to read in your header. Also there are two different shades of gray used on the border of your site and the background of your site. Finally your design is repeating near the footer. Other then that great job on creating a css based website.

I think the site is well laid out and easy to navigate. When it comes to value it always come down to the old saying 'Its only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it'. Because its a rowing site for a particular university it has very little value in the open market and would only be valuable to somebody connected with the rowing club.

Not bad. One thing I don't like to see with a site is one that's overdone. You have enough here that it's not dull, but nothing too crazy either. One thing that I don't like, however, is the mouseover highlighting on your links. It's a little.. off.

Good luck!

I like this simlicity concept and site is pretty fast, informational.. but you maybe wanted to say "how much should I take for design/development of this site" .. and not how much is wort.. since it's not generating any revenue

Honestly as a respected designer myself...I think your website is well organized and have good use of all the features. If you would have charged the client I would suggest your work is worth $299-$499.

If you want to go by hours, that I wouldn't suggest for you cuz thats a lot of hours!!!
