Olcore.com is a new search engine helping optimize what both webmasters and searchers get out of a search engine. Give us a look over, read over our documentation, and let us know what you think.

Many thanks!

I'm probably being a bit anal pointing this out but on your 'about' page you state: "We don't want the first result in our search to be a website that has only gotten to the top by paying more money than the website that deserves to be on top based on relevance."

and yet you have paid inclusions on your website?

Design-wise site seems fine, although I do recommend you remove that line from your mission statement, it's a tad contradictory.

use some colors
a background color/image may be good
throughout the site, colors are few and the design looks very simple.
for most of the searches - the response is "Your search for ----------- has returned no results to display, please try again."

That you for all the comments. We appreciate any insight you all are willing to give.

Thanks for pointing out the "about us" page. That has been taken care of.

As for the look, we wanted to keep it simple in order to make it browser and ISP friendly, but we will certainly take into consideration the suggestions on "sprucing it up" a little more.

To answer crush's comment about the searches, we are still working on building our database. As it grows, with your help of course, it will become more and more useful. We have a crawler going now too, so we should start to see more results as time goes on.

Again, thank you all for your comments. It's nice to see all the new submissions. We hope you enjoy our site more.

Yes, here are some questions for you to think about -
how are you going to promote it?
What target market are you after?
Why will people use Olcore vs the other(s)?

Your marketing strategy in this would be the most important field.

The site is easy to use and quick so there is little to worry about there at present.

First, let me thank you on behalf of Olcore.com for taking a look around and submitting your website.

I'll answer your questions in the order you asked them:

Promotion, as of now, is mostly by word of mouth and communities that let us talk about our site like this one. Olcore.com is different enough that it will sell itself. As with any new business, we need to get the word out there as much as we can, and as the submissions start to add up, so does the traffic. We are currently looking into increasing our efforts, as we are getting a great response so far. Due to the increasing desire for more relevant search results, word of mouth will spead Olcore quickly.

Our target is fairly general at this point. Obviously we want webmasters, as they are what will build the Olcore database. Also, as with any search engine, Olcore targets anyone browsing the internet in search of relevant information. Searchers bring traffic, and traffic encourages webmasters to submit. It's a never ending cycle.

Why will people use Olcore rather than the other engines? First, we are not aiming to compete with the other engines, or say that we are better than them. They are all good in their own way, as is Olcore.com. You want relevant sites that are hand verified? You want Olcore.com. You want to avoid having to look at ads or to avoid only finding a website because the webmaster can afford to pay $50 a click? You want Olcore.com. If you want a level playing field where results matter to us just as much as it does to you? You want Olcore.com.

Just as with any business, Olcore is always looking to improve what we have, better our service for our customers, increase our marketing efforts, and maximize results. We believe firmly in what Olcore.com is about which is why we have come this far. Our main goal is to help others see that, and feedback like what we have gotten here has moved that process along quite well.

Thank you again for your questions, it does help us analyze ourselves, and see what it is that our customers and potential customers what to know.

Let us know if you have any other questions or feedback for us!

NP, I just have a marketing background and I tend to ask these questions first thing when people come up with new ideas.

Marketing strategy is everything.

I would love some feedback on the new logo and some of the changes on the overall look. Some of it is fairly modest, but a step in the right direction for Olcore, none-the-less.

Looks fine to me. Just sort out your trimming and stripslashes in your PHP script. My description "FROFI's Frnet web design" was turned into "FROFI\'s FRnet web design". The backward slash isn't suppose to be there.

Why entering in a market that you already know that you will not survive ???
