Website Review and Suggestions

Hi there, I'm in the process of creating a new portal site. Its at www.citinow.com Check it out, register!, blog, and let me know what you think.
Its still in beta testing, the shopping goes to paypals sandbox, so you cant buy anything from it yet.
Any comments are appreciated.

Oh yea, go get firefox 2.0..its available and looks great! My site even seems faster with it

It could use some color.
I don't really like how the navigation repeats on the side. My suggestion is to use one or the other. Check out www.valley411.com.
Also there are too many ads. Make the header nicer to look at and get rid of the top banner, especially if you are using the top left block for a banner. You could also drop the google ads lower and make a few block ads in there.

For me the navigation at the side and top worked. To me you did not have too many ads but the content in the field of the home page did not appear balanced or grab my attention.
