Very cool concept and generally a great design! I think you have a great site and with the right effort could be quite popular. I created an account and pin and played around a bit.
You've come this far, so I'll offer some constructive criticism I think will really help really bring it to completion.
- The registration process is going to deter a lot of people. Simply registering in the first place is going to turn many would-be pins away. Simply put, the easier it is the more users you will get and keep. Registration left me sort of hanging after I filled in my info. It says check your email but doesn't say why, and has some spelling errors. I would recommend dead-simple instructions to check your email and login immediately. Actually I would honestly recommend letting the user select their own password, then automatically logging them in after registration info is complete so they can get started immediately. Much easier! This may let a few more bunk emails through, but I'd rather get a few junk accounts than lose a few real accounts.
- Go through every step of registration, login, etc. and ask yourself how to reduce the number of clicks from first visit to pin. For example changing registration above would remove several steps in one fell blow.
- Have a consistent and very obvious registration link on every page when logged out, including member profiles. Use every chance to get them registered, and never leave a visitor asking "How do I add a pin?" for more than two seconds.

- Possibly consider a way to let visitors create a pin with minimal details without registering, then walk them right into registration and customization after they get a taste.
- Work on grammar! Not trying to nitpick on this but good, straightforward instructions with proper spelling and solid grammar are very important to any respectable site. Make instructions clear and simple, remove any unnecessary text and information, and build up some excitement in your sales text.
For example the Mini FAQ on the main page when logged in currently has a number of strange grammatical issues. It also says "Only one step" and then proceeds to list five steps. It currently reads:

Only one step to get your pin on the map, if you have any question please feel free to contact us via email: support[at]pinmyplace.com.
1. Your navigation is on the right sight, this function are only available when you logged in.
2. The easiest way is, first place a pin on the map of the world and then add pictures to your gallery.
3. The pin image is your main image, it will show on the map of the world, home page and in big on your pin.
4. Your email address will only used for a new password.
5. On security reasons you will logged out after 30 minutes inactivity.

I took a minute to reduce and compose this, you are welcome to use it if you wish. But it's an example of refining and correcting some copy.

Welcome Username,
Place your pin to get started!
Edit your profile, pin, and photos with the user menu to the right.
Your pin image is your main image, and will be displayed on the world map, home page, and on your pin page.
Please visit the forums for support.

Notice I inserted the username in the welcome message (obviously replace Username with the user's name). Also #4 and #5 aren't really headlines, if you want to add those lines at the bottom of the page or below UserCP navigation.
The part highlighted in red I would ideally display to user's who haven't placed a PIN, with a clear link to adding their PIN. Less confusion.
Best of luck with the site, it looks great!
