Hi, after selling my two directories, ive decided to start a new one to keep it. I thought of an original domain (well, i think it is ) and bought a custom made template (im tired of seeing that every directory uses the same template) and got started. The logo is an imitation of the lord of the rings logo.

Name: The Lord of The Dirs
Url: www.thelordofthedirs.com

Do you like the domain and layout? Im chargin 2$ for regulars and 8$ for feature links, is it a fair price? Too high? Too low?

Thanks a lot, fuser

Maybe its just the geek in me, but I really dig the name. As far as the design goes, its simplistic and clean, which is paramount for directories like this. It has a web2.0ish design theme with the shading which is really in now, so atleast your on the bandwagon. The colors are pleasant, not too bright and annoying, the skin tones work well.

The only thing I think you might want to change is the font of the links at the top of the page (Home, Latest Links, Most Popular, etc). Its a little hard to make out on the smaller letters, and just looks jagged and unfinished. Maybe a clean Arial would be better.

Besides that one thing (which is purely opinion anyway), I think you've got a nice looking, easy to navigate directory.

EDIT: I noticed one more thing. At the top of the page, where the Google Ads sit, they don't stretch the full width of the inside border so you can see some white on each side of the ads. Might want to fill that in with a background of grey.

Hey thanks for the interest! I will take your suggestions into serious consideration.
I was looking for a web 2.0 design and a clean and easy to see layout.

Thanks again for the interest

I'm diggin' how the logo reminds me of Lord of the Rings.
I'm not sure about your directory charging, though. Best of luck with it.

Three quick notations:

1. Your directory list (main body section) should take up a majority of the horizontal space. After all, it is a directory. Right now it looks like the advert bar on the bottom dominates the screen.

2. The nav bar on the top uses a serif font. While this may be "in theme", it is hard to read due to its light font color. If you want the off-font type of navbar, use images instead (and go ballistic on them).

3. On a normal 800 to 1152 screen size .... I get different feelings about the layout. Normally, I am set at 800 (because I design to it). When I go full screen on my browser, your site seems 'less' impressive. I suggest a bg-color or image, plus center the window.

This is done well enough although the font is too light to make it easy to read. There's a real trend at the moment for light fonts which I don't really like as it's difficult to read.

Your contact page doesn't seem to be working.

Overall though, your backend stuff seems to be solid enough....
