Website Review and Suggestions

Hi - this is still a work in progress but I'd be interested to hear what you all have to say: http://www.thetop10s.com.

The idea is that I can run as many top 10s as I like so there's always new, updated charts. I'll hopefully be linking each chart to more relevant content as well so that it's not just a voting system but a useful resource for users.

I like color scheme on youre site, however, youre logo doesnt seams to be link back to home page, and google add doesnt fit to design, you should do somthing about that.

I really like your website!!! The logo is a killer

I don't know why people are not getting the concept of your website even though it says 'How does it work" DUH...

Anyways one suggestion...instead of posting a big stock image for each gallery try putting the top ten list for each category there, with a little image next to the category.

Thanks for your comments - I guess it is a bit stock imagy!,, You'r right.

I was actually thinking about having a few of the lists on the front page - I just need to sort out the chaching of the page - it's going to hammer my db each time that page is requested but caching will fix that.

I'm also going to have a more user based set of charts - you know, if users want to promote a website or a band etc.... and then run top 10s from that...

I suggest you use a plain white background (or something else that blends).

Also, try relocating the ads.

Other than, it looks very nice.

i wanted to poke around the site before i was forced to register. top 10 according to who? fast nice feel to it

Thanks for your comments - they're useful.

I agree there is too much white space at the moment and digimint, you said you wanted to poke around but was forced to register - yes, it is a bit inaccessable at the moment but as the content grows, there will be more to look at without registering.

digimint - the top 10s are voted for by users of the site - if you registeer you can vote yourself (and you can nominate any entries that aren't already on the site).

The idea is that it will be organic in that users can vote, suggest nominees and also suggest new top10s so the possibilities are endless.

It's going to take loads of work to get content built up but I really need people to start to voting on it.

good idea and domain. You should go on with this site....
