Website Review and Suggestions

Ok here is my site, would appreciate your views and comments on it. this is my first and only site. there are a few things i want to change, one being the titles of the individual categories look too plain and i want to put in a 5 star rating system for each store altho this may hugely increase the downloading time.

To be honest, it looks very plain. I don't think the colors are very appealing, and it just doesn't look very professional.

Though, I must admit, for a first site it's not too bad. You'll learn more as time goes on.

for your first attempt, it's not that bad.

If i might make a few suggestions...

Simplify your navigation a little. there are a lot of places to go and it can lose visitors.

Try to keep it simple, instead of having Clothing - Men, Clothing - Kids, etc, just have one clothing link and branch off from there. Maybe even put the buttons a little closer together.

If you have any graphics ability, maybe even create the buttons yourself.

There's a lot of info there, you have to design it with ease of use in mind.

As far as the "design" goes, i'm not a big fan of the colours. There is a lot of psycology behind the use of colour. Getting the right ones is very important.

Also, have a really cool header made, it will help get you more creadability.

I hope this input helps, I'm no expert thought!

your site is very boring, for a first site, its not that bad. We all have first sites.

the ads are distracting, it reminds me of http://www.borat.tv or some similar poorly designed site.

The colours are very poorly done, gradients are to change a color from one shade to another, not to change colors (from gray to purple).

tables design is not too good. For your next site, consider using CSS and XHTML.

Also, why would people use your site? I would just use a Search Engine to find "electronics" or "Men's Clothing". The site is just a directory, (in my opinion) those are extinct.

The images are poorly optimized, and kind of cheesey. they are boring.

the font color is distracting, and the serifs are throwing me off. I would use Helvetica and Arial or another sans-serifs font.

the logo could use at least a little bit of creativity.

You need to change the whole colour scheme and the white <body> space. Also do something about the header image. Instead of displaying plain text, make some graphics out of it. Maybe a logo?

Yes, as for me, i dont think the design is very appealing, normally with a bad looking website, not many visitors will want to come back, also many of the images seem to be very low quality, i suggest getting a new design and sharpening the images
