Overall, I would say not bad. But you do have plenty of room for improvement.
Firstly, I want to tackle the issue of adverts. Whilst they are very useful for generating revenue, this isn't what your site should be about. Every gaming site I have come across (specifically flash games) throws hundreds of text adverts and banners, etc at you. It really annoys me and just makes me close the page. Although you're not at that stage, it looks as though it could quite easily go that way.
What I propose is that you remove adverts from the header area, and create a sidebar with ONE set of adverts (AdSense, or whatever) and ONE near the footer. People are less likely to be annoyed and more likely to click them. They're also more likely to return to your site in the future (more clicks possible).
The menu just below the header looks like it's part of the adsense and not a menu. It confused me first time round. Your menu shouldn't be the main attraction, but it should certainly stand out from the rest of the site, so that people recognise it as the menu.
I suggest sprucing up the menu a:hover aswell, so that the user knows they are actually hovering over it (and to make it look a bit more 'flashy').
"Best flash games" looks out of place and line with the rest of the design. This is basically either because of CSS or Table problems. I suggest you sort out the alignment.
I like the Kids Corner idea and the link position. However, make it look appealing to kids. Make it stand out (not tacky neither).
Organise your front page a little better. Take examples of layout and structure from other gaming sites.
I think you need to improve your strengths with a graphics editor (Fireworks, Photoshop, GIMP, etc).
I wish you good luck and hope that your site turns out well.
