eLanceTalk has been around for about 1.5 years and hasn't gotten a lot of attention. I am currently improving and upgrading many things and shooting for a really kickass webmaster & freelance community/site.

This is a phpBB based site with a boatload of MODs and custom tweaks. Still many changes to come but I'm trying hard to nail an effective forum structure.

Many things are in-progress but I would love some feedback on the current forums. What forums would you like to see added? Removed? Changed?

Any feedback or ideas would be great. You can submit bugs but most of them are accounted for and on the to-do list.

Here's the URL: http://www.elancetalk.com/

Thanks!

On first look:

Change the top banner colors (it's too bright. Distracts attention from the main content)

Get a header graphic instead of the "Welcome" sentence.

Your forum pages are not search engine friendly (work on that)

I like the overal page layout though.

You mean the logo is too bright?

On SEO, I'm extending the current SEO mod to be a little better, but what in particular did you see that's "unfriendly" right now?

Thanks for the input!

No, the logo is fine.
Instead of your header (a logo on left and text on right), have one long graphic.

The URLs are not seo friendly.

Also, I would personally like a lighter blue than the one you are using.

Okay, I see what you mean with the header now. The logo is going to be updated actually, one of these days.

How? If you're referring to the a SESSID in the URL, these are not displayed for many SEs. However I need to add some to the list.

I plan on the some changes though, for example:

Forum URLs:

From http://www.elancetalk.com/marketing.f42.html
to http://www.elancetalk.com/marketing/

Sub-Forum URLs:

From http://www.elancetalk.com/link-development.f39.html
to http://www.elancetalk.com/marketing/link-development/

Thread URL:

http://www.elancetalk.com/free-directory-listings.t3572.html
http://www.elancetalk.com/marketing/link-development/free-directory-listings

Basically reflect the forum structure and navigation more effectively in the URLs, and ditch the IDs if possible.

Not bad. You might want to throw in some red. It looks too bluish.
