Website Review and Suggestions

i know that news sites and bbs sites are a dime a dozen but i would like to do more than this so if you could offer a creative opinion i would love to hear it and if you would like to get involved let me know

eye candy is good i will do more to flash up the site as i go i just spend so much time researching content i am trying to find people to help to improve the site

I don`t want you to take this as an ofense , but it seems to grey . More images , few colors may make your site to look more alive.( it`s just a way of speeking

)
It loads fast and good funtionality.

Also change the background color of your forums too. At least where the posts are. ( so it is separate from the rest of the page)

Hm. Looks a little too much like a blog(even if that's what it is).
Try to add more "feel" however I like the embedded forum very nice.

I liked the genaral layout and as a news site I feel that the design is OK. Lots of flashy images will draw attention away from the content.
One thing I would alter is when you get to the end of a news item you have a collection of arrows to direct the user to the top of the current article and to the next and previous article. I would make the graphic part of the link as well as the following text. Just a small point but the first time I saw this I automatically went to the graphic rather than the text.
I hope you don't think I'm being picky because I really liked your site.
