Not bad, its a bit dull though. Perhaps a few brighter colours? Very easy to navigate through though.

Don't put things in the navigation unless they work for one thing. That's almost always a site killer.

I'm not sure what your site is about either. If it's a business, then the home page is inappropriate. If not, then it's just stupid.

Capitolize the word I. That annoys the Hell out of me, and when I see a site that does it I leave and never come back.

Well I'm not as much as a veteran as some of the other people on this forum but I'll give you my $.02, since I like giving feedback...

First off if you're new to site design, then you're off to a good start. I don't see a lot of functional issues - most of what I found were asthetics...

Ok first to be super nit-picky, that gray menu bar at the top looks like it might be juuuust barely repeating itself, if you look over at the right side of the bar. I'd zap that little extra appendage.

Also your main banner "About Clout" at the top is a bit too dark for my taste, and I can see .jpeg artifacts in the words. I'd clean all that up - like the other guy said maybe either throw some muted color in, or make it shiny/metallic or something. PM me if you want me to send you an example of what I'm talkin' about.

I also agree with the other poster about "what is this site for?" -- I see that a lot on this forum and I even got that once when I submitted my own site for review (my case was different though, because I was trying to do too much with the site). In your case though, there's no clear indication from the get-go of what this site is supposed to offer.

Figure out a mission statement or tagline (I know it sounds corny, especially considering the content that it looks like you're trying to put out there) - and drop it in your title bar - or something.

I want to ask you about the domain name, I've searched the Net all over, but couldn't find any meaning of he word "clout" at least remotely connected with gambling, or am I wrong?

We all have had a first site at one point. Best advice, keep working at it and never give up. Read, Read, Read! You'll be a master in no time.

Good Luck!

Not bad for a first try. Some explanation of what the site is about would help.

Good try design-wise for a newbie but I would like to know what the site is about. You need to tell visitors what to expect when they arrive at your home page.
Good luck.

Have you looked at the site with anything but IE ?? If not.. you need to. It really is a mess in FF, sorry. Your javascript racked up almost 300 errors in my Firefox 2.01 and your code needs some serious cleanup.
