Website Review and Suggestions

While not 100% complete, I'm just about done working on the design and I'm getting ready to start focusing on content.

The site is going to be an informative site to help everyone from novices to pros when it comes to e-commerce design and style. I'll cover everything from software reviews to tips, tricks and tutorials. A few times a week I'll post a new site to the "Showcase" which will showcase a site that shows excellence in e-commerce design.

Like I said, I'm getting ready to start really working on content so I know I need some work in that area. Just want to know what you guys think about the overall usability of the site and the style.

Thank you, the software is DasBlog. The design is modeled after a WP theme.

Hi,

Your site looks clean and quit. The only comment I have is that I seem to have problems to focus on the content text. Most probably because you use a rather small font size for the text. Also because my eyes seem to focus more to the right side (probably those orange RSS images destract me a little).

Last comment,but most probably you have noticed it yourself, is that under TAGS some text sizes are a little too big.

F1trader, thanks for the comments, very much appreciated.

I can see what you mean about focusing on the left side of the page instead of the content. I've increased the font size a little on the main content, and I'm going to try to keep focus on the content by posting images along side the text in the posts where ever I can. I'll also play around with the little orange feed icons to try to make them less intrusive.

As for the large tag fonts. That's because it is a Tag Cloud. The problem is I don't yet have a lot of content so there isn't enough tags or posts to fill out the entire cloud.

I like the design very much. Very well thought out and a good use of colour.
The navigation is clear and easy to use.
Well done and good luck with your devlopment of the rest of the site.

Nice design, overall very clean. The only thing I might suggest is a brief blurb about what the site exactly is at the top. If someone stumbles across your site, you want to be able to grab their attention and tell them what it is before they go searching elsewhere. But overall very nice job.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I agree that the site does need an intro to explain the concept and idea. I'll work on that.

I'm working on fixing the code problems as well. Most of them stem from a rich text editor that is used on the backed.

nice clean crisp lines

I'd tone down the colors a bit, agree with f1trader there

but the site to me looks like a spam site that is just going to have offers and ads

maybe present some text as a heading to the rest of content on page
