Website Review and Suggestions

We are building a new site and would like a review of the basic concept. At this point mockup only. We should have it completed within a month.

I really like the design! The words that spring to mind or 'smooth' & 'flowing'.

The shades of blue and the brown(?) work well together... one thing that does spring to mind is 'template', I dont know why to be honest so I cant really go into anymore detail about it - I wish I knew more to elaborate.

Overall though I do like the design and I think would work well for its purpose.

Hi, I think your graphics are very nice, but I think in this space, the homepage needs a lot more content to entice a visitor to stay. For example, I recently blogged on the Concierge.com site. Notice that on the home page there are menu items for Insider Guides, Destination Finder, Tools, etc. Things to create stickiness. In this market segment, I think these type of grabbers are needed to get a visitor to look futher. I am not sure your intentions with this site, so I might be off-base, but I hope these comments are useful to you. Rich

Love the colors, I would agree that it has a template "look" to it. Which might not be bad. I was at another travel website, local to houston tx, and it had the same template/look.

Looks nice but you are entering a very crowded market place. Why do you think people would visit your site in place of more established sites?
Your main graphic has a grey line running across it above the menu. Why?
Good luck but I feel a lot of work lies ahead of you to promote your site.

I'd change the text in header

and add some graphic inside or next to it

like a palm tree, globe, plane, ship, or something

Personally, I think there is too much blue. Blue is, of course, a great color for a travel agency because it symbolizes rest and relaxation. However, too much of a good thing can be bad. I would suggest either using white to off-set the blue, or maybe work in a fun color such as orange (as vacations are also fun, so a "fun" color cannot hurt).

Thanks for all of the reviews!! The site is not a template even though I do create templates may be why it looks that way.

The text currently listed in the site are just place holders for possible text locations.

This site when finished will be very large. The object is to cater to specific needs of travelers such as tours related to a given area or facts such as historical weather and best times to travel.

Like if you are a skier one of the best places in the world right now to ski is the Pacific Northwest. Due to low snow levels around the world and record snowfall in the Northwest US.

wow, travel site I personally love to review the site like this. Nice cool blue color with a relaxing image, Love it.

coming up to suggestions:
The unde construction notice with the template site url, I guess small fonts not taking much of attention would be good.

The dark grey area for the search of hotel / city etc. in that the form input box are comparatively smaller then the box itself, I guess you can increase the area of the box or centralize it, so that the side area don't feel like left out.

Links are still not done so can't say anything about it, but overall good design
