Website Review and Suggestions

Hey , please have a look over this new forum , it`s games related. Please suggest new categories or things you think should be done regarding the design... ( or everything else you have in mind )

One question to Math... Are you joking? This is the most basic, no-design forum I have ever seen. A generic install at best. What is there to like?

It looks like it took 15 minutes to setup. This is exactly what vBulletin looks like when installed fresh. See here: http://www.vbulletin.com/features.php

So Darkstar, offer some design to critique. I am not here toi critique VBuelletin. I am not really that concerned about your categories.

And as for you Math, perhaps you should offer an honest critique, or just keep quiet.

very very bland, looks like a fresh install, as for gaming forums go shoot with darker colors, and as far as cats go you dont need many at all, you dont wanna spread people out when you start, you wanna bunch em together to make it look active, and starting a forum without a small fanbase/users whatever is a pain, i have a small steady forum, you dont get many new users, just the same ones, get a new theme and a few interesting mods

Looks kind of typical of most forums out there;( Spice it up a bit with brighter colours that may appeal to a gamer!

Well, first thing first... its totally basic.
needs a good skin. needs a good banner for your site.
try avoiding adds at least till you have 100 members.

also, i think gaming news should go on top.
and, if you take my advice, plz cut some categories. a forum with more topic in each category looks better than a forum with lots of categories with less no. of topics

Well, thanks very much for your oppinions. I appreciate you took of your time to post here. I will try to make the forum a bit better and then I will post again to ask for your oppinions as it seems here people offer nice suggestions.

yeah i have to agree this is very very basic. I see nothing done to the install to customize it. No forum mods or skin mods. Try adding a portal and set it as your homepage to get people away from the "oh i stumbled across another forum" mentality. A good Skin is easy to install just search Google for Vbulletin skins. Also some good mods are easy to install such as a Arcade and Shop. This will help keep people interested in the site even where there is nothing left to read.

Personally I feel that the forum could be improved by having someone design and code you a custom VB template instead of the custom template
