Hi. Your layout and colors are nice for the type of site. Your content on the main page is good.
Usability/functionality issues: (using mozilla based browser)
Clicking on the "home" link in the navigation bar brought up an error of not found, when you've just arrived at the home page. It happened 3 times, but then once you've gone to other areas of the site, it works ok. Oddly enough, I can't seem to reproduce the error now, but that may be that it's assigned or maybe cleared a session id now? The pop up error box it brought up, showed a session id appended to the link.
However, if you're ON the home page, you really shouldn't have an active home page link. It should only be functional on pages that AREN'T the home page. Otherwise users can get confused.
other than that, it all looks ok to me. Would suggest getting your news from a variety of sources, rather than only linking to one other web site for your news boxes on the side...
