Whew - this is your first shot to make an impression? You've got alot of work ahead of you, so here's my review:

1. You have your "<!DOCTYPE Declaration>" shown twice - it's in your numerous coding errors shown below.

2. Reduce the size of those images by half!

3. Get rid of the mixed red and blue text - make it black, and make it the same font all the way thru your site.

4. Get rid of all the ads at the bottom and make a "links" page for all of those!

The one thing I can't stand about NEWBIE websites is to scroll forever and find a bunch of crappy ads that have nothing to do with the content of the site!

Hi there, also aside from what travelagent said ( Which I agree 100% with BTW) you will also need to start looking into SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) for your website. There is a SEO talk section here, among other forums...... We will be happy to answer your SEO questions when you start to walk that path.

As for fixing your errors, I'll give you some help ... this is your first error:

Everywhere you have the ampersand ( & ) it needs to be coded like this -- & for validation.

Everywhere you see this:

Warning: discarding unexpected </input> ... simply means you have one to many "</input>" codes and one needs to be deleted.

After working in the pet industry for several years and also running an online pet business here are my suggestions:

Users are going to find the site difficult to navigate and will often times only make 1 or 2 clicks before they exit.

You need to differentiate yourself from stores like drsfostersmith.com and thatpetplace.com

On first impression I was confused by the site layout. It took my about 5 seconds to figure out how to get to bird supploes.

The way the products display also looks overwhelming. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Maybe try and get a slightly higher quality on the header graphic.
at first, i thought the words on the header was the menu so it seems a little confusing. perhaps empherize the menu...jazz it up a little

You have a good domain name, and it looks like your on the right track but the website needs a little work. Maybe change the header, and get a nice picture of a bunch animals together. Maybe you can make your logo 3D, that would look cool, and put it somewhere in your header. Another thing you can do is make some nice rollover buttons. The backround would look neat if you added some texture to it, maybe change the background color to #EED0AE, easier on the eyes. Your pictures are great. when you fix all your little problems I think you will be off to a great start, so Goodluck!

It is neat and clean, which is always good. I think it does need to look a little more polished (better banner, more color variation, better images, etc.) Overall, I think that it is a good first try.

I don't understand what you're saying -- personally, I think he chose a very wise; catchy; easy-to-remember domain name, as it fits with the content of his site.

nice simple site.. But the Home site is just a little bit to SHOW OFF.. I mean when I clicked then I just got bombed with pets pets pets..

Site looks nice, but there are certanly some things you can improve. First, the font on the start page is too big. You can also change the background and tne menu buttons. Try using some free graphics from the web.
