Website Review and Suggestions

Hey people,

I've almost finished this site for a client.

I'll outline a few things first.

Basically, it's for a client, so I'm pretty restricted when it comes to the color choice he specified, and the logo etc. Of course, you can still feel free to comment on those aspects, just bear in mind there isn't alot I can do in the way of changing the logos and blue colors.

He also wanted most (if not all) the links to the other pages within the site coming off the main menu (on the left). What I currently have is the best solution I could come up with for the navigation. It's not perfect (has some issues in FireFox), but generally works like it's supposed to.

Please let me know what you think of the site, but more importantly, the navigation. Is it confusing in any way? Is it easy to get lost in it? Does it work?

Also, is the sitemap effective? Are you able to find it easily, or does it need more emphasis?

One last thing: Its not 100% done yet. I think it needs some form of graphics or color in the content area (the grey is a bit drab), and possibly the background area (that grey is also a bit bland), Any suggestions or ideas for those areas?

I really like it.

Especially the footer graphic of the city, I really like that.

I think functionally it works, but maybe needs a bit of polishing visually.

Thanks, I feel the same. I'm trying to get the sub-menus (the ones that open up after clicking) to look a little nicer, but the way it's coded with both Javascript and CSS makes it a little hard to get exactly what I want.

sometimes javascripting combined with CSS can be difficult but once you get all the kinks worked out, it can be most definately worth......especially in terms of accessing different parts of the website easily

A nice looking site.
I found not enough contrast in the graphic used in the footer, if it hadn't been for the comment of Lunchbox170 above I wouldn't have noticed it at all.
I ran your home page through the W3C validator and found a few errors, mainly through the use of special characters the & and quotes in particular.
If you go to the W3C validator at http://validator.w3.org/detailed.html and do the check yourself you will get plenty of information to help correct these small errors.

Hey TB!

Nice one, only thing I noticed is the left menu: if some one comes to the idea expand all the items, the site will get a strange look

I would suggest to making the items self-closing if another is expanded.

Layout is good and clean design. Great.
I have a suggestion. Why not use better dhtml menu?

Aldor: Thank you for bringing that up. Ugh, there are alot of those little errors mainly concerned with special character formatting etc, and just some general stuff. The site is still what you'd call in the "beta" stages, so I haven't validated it yet, and had a chance to iron out the wrinkles... probably time I did, thanks

Krido: Thanks, I noticed that myself. I'm currently looking for a DHTML solution to that menu. Anyone got any links that could help? WOuld be much appreciated

Very clean, very nice. I would conside adding a texture to the gray background just to set it apart from your content a bit more, but other than that, quite nice.
