Website Review and Suggestions

For Immediate Release

LanceHub is a new website, offering freelancers to post a listing for free, and where prospective employers can find a freelancer.

Listings are shown all together randomly, or on their respective category pages randomly.

The site is simple, all you need to do is register, login, and post your listing. An administrator will then approve your listing in a timely manner. There are two types of listings. A normal listing has the following features:

Testimonials
Provider Rating
Info page with email form
Info page with skill set and more

A premier listing costs only $2 a month and has the following features:

All normal features
Listed in top of category and full listing page
Spot on the homepage at all times
Portfolio

The premier listing feature will be paid by PayPal, and will be added in the next few days.

It's a nice idea. Good design and use of CSS.

Only thing I'm wondering... if you're expecting the site to become popular (which every designer obviously would) then I'd think the $2 fee for a homepage ad will seem pretty good to most people. I'm sure that a lot of people would go for it. But, if you promise a homepage ad to everyone who pays, won't it get a little crowded? Also upsetting freelancers because the value of their ad will go down if there are 500 others?

I think it's a really good idea overall, but I'm not so sure about the permanent homepage promise.

Good bit of design though. Cheers.

Hi Mike Roquemore,

Why not blend the ads at the header part of your site?
Why not create a nice logo for your site?
Rss feed is good. Great job.

nice design... it looks good so far, and good idea...

(if you want to get technical it's not XHTML strict valid...)

one thing i would personally do though... is mention on your site somewhere that you are not affiliated with those people... u know for legal reasons or what not...
