Ok, I would first start by changing that logo. It is very rough around the edges. I know you are just using a texture, but it really degrades the image a lot.

Your poll is just a hair too long so I get a scroll bar. Try to make it to where your visitors see the entire poll without having to scroll. That way they will be more likely to use it.

I really do not like the rollover effects you have on your links. I think what I do not like is the blue background you put on them. Try some other effects.

Last thing, you have a lot of advertisements on this site. So many that it detracts from the site. Try to limit the amount of ads on one page to one, maybe two depending on the size and positioning.

Your banner needs serious revision. The graphics are very low quality.

I am not a big fan of the monochrome floating palette design you have. The dark blue body looks like a road map and I found myself following it around with my eyes.

The very worst thing about your site are the popups. Everytime I either clicked on a link or performed a back command, I got a new, exciting popup in a new browser. After looking around your site for 60 seconds, I had a browser farm in my toolbar. I don't like all those browsers. Not one bit. Killed them all. I hate that practice so much that I will never return to your site.

I say all that not to be malicious but to illustrate a point: you may find that your aggressive popups annoy a lot of people and I guarantee it will negatively affect return traffic to your site.

I agree with the two above about your banner...it is really bad quality. also...something i tell everyone....the lighter site is more appealing and professional. try to lighten it up a bit...actualy a lot.

I would have to disagree with the above post. It says that the lighter the site, the more professional it looks. I think that a site can look professional without being of lighter color. Take a look at my site http://www.jjgaming.com. I use a black and orange look which I think looks very professional. Also, look at http://www.gamespot.com which uses a dark background and is very professional. Just work on the graphics and you will get to that look. Don't lighten things unless you feel it is needed.

1) For starters you really do need to sort out the header image - the quality is very poor.

2) Try and keep your fonts consistent - your links seem to be in verdana and your text in the centre something else. Talking about the "monthly news" section in the centre you need to sort out the formatting of the text, it looks all over the place.

3) Add some more colour to make the make sections of the site stand out a bit more.

4) Try and reduce the amount of empty space you have at the bottom of the page

5) In terms of looks you just seem to have a number of blocks placed around the page.....it needs some form of consistentcy.

6) As others have said loose the popups - they are extremely annoying

7) Also your link to the legal page does not work at all....

theres a lot to think about from me as well as others - Good Luck in your continued development!

Ok, the graphic, while better, is not there yet. It still looks rough around the edges, but is much better than before.

Now that the site has been redesigned it looks incredible bare. Where did all of the content go? The last time I looked at this there was a lot of stuff, now, nothing.

The blue text is a bit hard to read, but is readable.

Last thing, all of your pages are not consistent. Many of them are just black and white, while the home page is the blues. Try to make everything feel consistent while the user is browsing. I feel like I am being taken to another site when I click a link.

This site gets a 6 out of 10

Sorry to say it, but it looks really amateur!

Take a look around, look at other similare sites..
See what they do! Why they do it etc..

Have that in mind when you start building your own
site!

Aloha, I dropped in on this review a little late. After reviewing other comments, I felt I needed to post. Your site is inconsistant with page colors. I think a site, for continuity should be similar, it gives your visitor a mental break, they won't wonder if the links send them to another site. It is only an opinion...

The dark colors are ok, just remember the text and graphics should provide enough contrast to be easily read.

BTW I like the banner... it is on subject, interesting and not too obtrusive... I like the "rough edges" that are there now... I didn't see the first version.

Frankly I did not like the site.
The colours on the site are not appealing. Leave alone the logo (too bad ) You have to use white text for that type of background. And you main page is too short of content . Give it a life man ! You have stretched the logo a bit too much

Now for a few quick reasons i was wasnting the banner to have "rough edges" so it would contrast the smooth graphic. Also I KNOW IT IS AN AMATUER SITE it is supposed to be that way. I only want kids and teens to come to my site (heaven forbid an adult likes japanese anime). I should have put this in the first post but i was hoping for more content suggestions because i get reviews from people that like anime at my school.
