Travelagent, which validator do you use? I know the W3C validator is not the alpha and omega of validation, but it is official, which is why I've always used it. Wouldn't mind switching to the one you're using if it picks up more errors.
Circle: It just shows you that you shouldn't try to learn from major banks, Google or Yahoo about coding  I have seen sites come up with 0 errors.
W3C sets standards for everyone to follow, so that eventually we'll have a uniform way to do things that will work for all browsers. How would you like to make sites for 10 different browser-agents, each with its own quirks? Designing for one browser with quirks (IE) is already a headache.
Quoteus: To fix the errors, look at what the reason for failing is. Each error should give you an idea of what is wrong.
