Hi everybody,

I would appreciate if you could give me your comments about this new website http://www.comboost.com

ComBoost Photos is a photos sharing website where you can create an account for free and share photos with friends. It comes with features such as: flat screen slideshow with effects, photo downloads, automatic creation of pdf albums (new formats to come), e-cards with your favorite pic, outlook/yahoo... address book imports, fast upload software....

Here is a direct link to a gallery:
http://www.comboost.com/Gallery/Gall...y.aspx?r=83914

ComBoost also offers something called ComBoost Modules.
It's actually a range of dynamic modules like agendas, news, photos galleries and slideshows that you can insert in a site very easily. Be careful it's not like all these codes you can find on the net, the concept is to insert an agenda for example under an iframe, or a new page, inside an existing site. Everything is controlled from ComBoost, not only the content but also the design of the module so that you can customize it for your own site. Basically that means that webdesigners can focus on their designs and subscribe to comboost modules for everything dynamic...
What do you think of the concept?

Last thing to mention: ComBoost Photos offers a free slideshow module. Simply copy/paste the code under "Free module" in the gallery and you'll get a flat screen slideshow under your site. Then any change under your album will appear under your site.

This is a fairly good website - the problem is, that you're competing with sites like Facebook.

As for the layout, it's a little messy in places but it's fairly good. I like your logo - simple but effective is the best way.

Good luck with it!

Thanks for your comment.
Competition is always good! And there are monsters there. But I don't see ComBoost Photos as competing with facebook. It's more like flickr and webshots (obsiously much smaller, nothing to compare!), without all that concerns the community, the search...but with a better way to create albums (100 drag and drops), to store and manage photos, to share them...

Regarding ComBoost modules, competition is totally different.

I think your layout is too crowded.
I'd make everything one size smaller and I'd also change the color scene to a little less busy/noisy one.

Good luck with it.

Insensus

I suggest you compact them abit into slightly small so,less scrolling needed. Give each part a good sector

Nice website.

A few comments:

- I would suggest reducing the size of the top navigation links a little.
- The homepage seems a little spaced out at the top.
- Don't use AIM's logo
- Change the font in the News section and maybe lose the iframe
- Resize the top right images to the correct size

Hope that helps!

I would try not to use frames, also like ebsolutions said don't use the AIM logo, and don't use the images you have (they are under copyright, and owned by Apple) you can get in trouble.

I think it looks very good, good php work. Be sure to make sure it isn't vulnerable to PNB attacks on the image uploading script, i found this out the hard way. good luck with it

Thank you for all your comments.
I think all of you are right. I will certainly modify the home page with 2 major links to ComBoost Photos and to ComBoost Modules. That was an idea I had, and you are confirming it.
You are right these are AIM logos, but I didn't know it actually (never seen AIM till your messages)! So for sure I will change that ASAP.

-21 Validation errors on the home page.
-Format the navigation bar with background images for the buttons and some rollover effects. (Easy to do with CSS)
-Same with the second grey one.
-Kind of hard to find the register link.

The layout isn't compiled properly and I would recommend trying to find a faster host. It looks like it has an interesting concept and I hope to see it later on in the future!

Overall rating: 7/10
