-The text boxes and button to login... just look horrid.
-The color scheme doesn't go well together.
-Why waste all the room on the main pages for featured profiles?

interesting points, in what way do the text boxes look horrid? you mean if i were to change the colours, etc.. would that make a difference?

What colour scheme would you recommend?

What should be there if i do make the featured profiles smaller?

Thanks

Looks good to me. To bad you lost part of your database when moving to a new server. Ouch, that had to hurt.

I don't agree with all of this. In reply to it, I would say:

-The text boxes and button to login aren't 'horrid' but I do agree that theres something wrong there - just remove the dotted border I think
-The color scheme looks good in my opinion
-Ok, fair enough - good point on the featured profiles. If you really want to include them, them maybe move them to below the more important stuff?

Also, I viewed the site in FireFox and it didn't display 100%properly - the text overlapped in a few places and stuff like that? just thought I'd bring that to your attention.

Otherwise, a nice, well-designed site

After a year or so it's been completely redesigned, and recoded.
Any C&C on the new site now?

Thanks.

I don't quite like this, to tell you the truth. Why there is no proper title text set? "Home - SrevSpace" doesn't tell anyone anything about your site nor it doesn't give you any SEO effect.

The layout of the page seems ok. But the graphics don't. Are you doing all your graphics yourself? If you are, stop it. It would cost you less than $100 to get a professional designer create you a great looking set of graphics (just check out rentacoder.com). The background image with the clouds looks funny, the logo with the four red arrow thing looks cheap and there's really no graphics in the header bar at all. Just a big black block. Why shouldn't the header look good?

Another major problem is that your site doesn't tell very well what it is about. You have pictures of clouds, a strange logo, a strange domain name and at the bottom of the page a huge random image (I got a pic of Mars the first time, now I got a vinyl disc). "What the heck" is probably the first thing a visitor thinks when entering this page, and the Back button is most likely the next action.

Why not actually write a few lines of text to tell the visitor what the site is about. You have a brief introduction with the login box but that's just too small and in a wrong place.

I can't really avoid saying this again: Why "SrevSpace"? Does it mean anything? OK, you could brand it, Google didn't mean anything when it started. But do you really need to have the "SrevSpace" text written all over the page? I counted the name 9 times from the front page alone. Nine times.

You should also think about removing everything under the Copyright line. I don't see much point in showing the average visitor how many milliseconds it took to generate the page or how many guests were online in the last 15 minutes.

Okay, so, i've taken into consideration of what you said.

The title text has been updated, it's now longer and explains exactly what the site is. I do actually have a designer who does the graphics and really, the top header "clouds" change on a seasonal basis, before it was snow, now it's spring it's clouds, a nice little idea i thought. The four red arrows really explain connectivity, actually when you login the "big black box" becomes a easy to use navigation area.

the "strange domain" is merely a name, hardly strange and there is a caption on the random image and an option to disable it. I have added a brief description on the homepage now, as i said before "Why "SrevSpace"?" well, its a brand name. I say it's best for the user to know the brand of the site really, rather than forgetting it quickly.

In terms of visitors online and page generation, you could say that for almost any site, even this site.

Thanks for the comment,
WinSrev
