First of all i have been in to web design for many years now. But this is my first web site after a 5 year break from web design. I know it still needs some work at this point. So please give me some feedback.

Thanks

Hi,

i'm not a big fan of white text on a black background, does my eyes in!

also, i have to scroll to the right to see banner so you've either got a nice monitor or your image repeats in the banner table or is just too big in the first place.

I'm sure you could think of a nice logo or post a competition thread in graphics forum with that name, endpixel.

Also too many words. home page should be short and concise. perhaps have a main table for overview and then have a flash animated scroll bar at bottom showing your portfolio. there are many free templates on web.

good luck

if you reduce the width of that banner, then you will be able to fit the site onto one page rather than having that annoying horizontal scroll. Other than that, I would say that yes - the white text is a little much. Just tone it down a little and it'll be fine.

Other than that I think that this is a really nice design

I would shrink down the minimum width. Little too much scrolling for smaller rez people.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I certainly plan to reduce the overall width of the page. Also i plan to change the black background as it is hard on the eyes. Ill post an update soon, to see what everyone thinks of the changes.

Suggestions:
-center the website
-put a background color on the <body> (to avoid white strip on the side for widescreen viewers)
-consider changing the white text on black background. If you really like the black background, try slightly grayer text.

Good luck.

Yes, the white on a black background isn't easy on the eyes. If you want to keep the black background, maybe make the text a greyish color.
Typically, you want to have the width of your sites at or below 800px because for one, a select few still use that resolution and two, even us with high res don't always have our browser windows fully maximized.
On rollover on the links maybe have them change grey or some muted color. The red does not go well with the background.
I like the design of the header.

Just a first look and the design is good looks like you changed the text to the grey color..

Only thing I'd say is to add some images or something relevant to each topic.. it needs something to spice it up a bit my .02

maybe center your content and add a background color
i know you were trying to resize it to fit most browsers lol but then you have ppl like me sitting at 1600x1200 and there's this big ugly white space on the right....

and i agree a little image next to the different posts would help make things a bit more appealing...

the background's too dark. why not use another color? add also some images and additional content to your site.

I am using 1024*768 and i have to scroll bars and i see the left side of the screen as a blank black screen.

I think the dates are a litte to small and the colours are a little too dark

Try to increase the size of the text, readers don't look too much on the design, what is important is the content.

I agree with the above statement. Instead of a background color add banners or images for color and leave the text black and white or something easy to read.

I don't like black background and white letters. Better make it bright for the first page.

Hmm, on 1024x768 resolution you have to scroll right to see the centre, also - it needs a bit more effects in the content area.

Good work though
