colors look great, but the text is very small and crowded. Bookmarked!

Yikes, the text is way too small for good reading. The tabbed navigation looks bad, not good especially since you are doing a photoshop help site . It was slow loading for me. I do like the color scheme. It is a start, good luck.

You should try a much simpler approach to the designing of you're website ( which hopefully will reduce loading time )
Larger text will help a lot.
Also try and center elements on the page.
Good luck mate!

Everything is to close together.
Also you should make a border around those 'Update' bars.

First off - pixelxs, very hard to remember if you're just visiting from a tutorial port site.

The overall impression of the site is that you just used a bunch of tutorials used to create whichever effect is where, then chopped them together. Your site just doesn't flow.

Furthermore, your background took a REDICULOUSLY long amount of time to load -- it was the last element loaded, when it should have been the first. Use CSS to apply a vertically repeating background, and shave 19/20ths off that image. Just use as much as you need so it repeats properly.

Plain fonts sometimes work, but not always. Know when you have something bad going on; change the font of the tutorial name to something smaller, at least.

That's all the help I can give without charging a fee

aww. thanks knowledgedot.
you made me feel so good about my site.
god, i would pay about $100 to get your professional advice. and i'm definetly just going to ditch the name pixelxs and spend another £15 a year on a new domain, because you can't remember the name.
just incase you didn't realise, i was being sarcastic.
yeah, i know my site has bad points. it takes ages to load blah blah, i'm working on it. but do you actually feel good about yourself when you say that my site looks like i've just followed a few tutorials and 'chopped' them all together?
this place makes you feel very good about your site.

to everyone else, i'm working on the css, so the text will be bigger and the loading time will be reduced.

I gave my honest opinion on your site. If you would rather have a bunch of yes-men come and tell you how wonderful life is, be my guest.

I tried to point out what you could do to fix some issues I found to be important, clearly this isn't the advice you're looking for. I would like to hereby change my statement from the entirety of my last post to "Gj looks great, nothing you could do to make it better" Let me be your first yes-man.

If you're still accepting suggestions, may I make one to find a cheaper domain registrar? You could be paying 1/4 what you're paying now at any of hundreds, if not thousands, of other companies.

I'd echo the previous statements about text size and line-height - definitely too cramped. And the site site is slow to load for me too.

The statement:
Quote:
Pixelxs.com is best viewed in firefox with a resolution of 1024x768.
is unnecessary. Don't even worry about it - your target audience (graphic designers) won't likely be running low resolutions.

There seems to be a little too much going on in the header - a lot of different styles and ideas coming together.

My best piece of advice would be to not get so defensive/protective about your designs. Knowledgedot could have been a little more polite, but I don't think he was trying to trying to attack you, but providing you with an honest opinion - which is what you signed up for by posting this thread.

A website is never finished - there's always room for improvement.

I like the headings, but i think the navigation menu is too small.

I also advise that all the writing the body of the page- glossary orb, water...
needs to be spread out a more. It feels like it's all on top of each and you aren't using the full capacity of the page.

In general just make the text bigger i think
