Hey

I am just working on a new website and always like you guys to input !

The site is Bournemouth Pride

I am sure the colour scheme won't be to everyone liking but is suitable considering the target audience.

Navigation and gallery are still being worked on......

Hi MrTom,

Thanks for sharing this project. Here's what I found.

On the links page, both the "gay to Z" link and the bottom link on the page (bglad) have missing images.

On the local info page, you quote the official bournemouth site. Is it possible to link to them here for extra credibility?

On the pubs and clubs page, can you get the boxes for each venue more uniform in size, or at least position? If not, maybe put the small ones in one row and the larger ones in another? They might be easier to line up that way.

The photo gallery loses a little uniformity (links at the bottom are gone, the page size is a little larger, and you've got the white background inside the border) but overall that page looks like you did a pretty nice job of integrating material from another service.

On the "almost didn't happen" page (2001) did the last paragraph get cut off, or is it just missing a period? Amazing story btw- it's always upsetting to hear of people being subject to this kind of harassment. Not unusual I know, just upsetting. Good piece for the site.

At the bottom of the page, I feel like I would center those two rows of links. That's just a gut feeling - I can't quite justify it, so you can of course (as with all this!) take it or leave it. I like the fact that whichever page you're on displays differently, with that smaller grey font, but I might go not quite so small, if that's an option. I would play around with putting an extra horizontal smidgen of space between the 2nd line of links and the url/copyright/email bar.

On most pages, that bottom bar (that I just refered to) is way at the bottom. Not so on the "almost didn't happen" page. I'm not sure what's happening there, as it's not the content forcing it down. For example, the contact page has less content but the links and bar are at the bottom. Can you make these uniform?

And when the bar is at the bottom, it's completely flush with the bottom of the page. I almost feel like a bit of it is being cut off. (That's just the feeling. I'm not saying it is.) But anyway, to avoid creating that sense, maybe having just a little bit of space below would look better. Just an idea. I'd try it and eyeball it - maybe you'll prefer it the way it is.

Finally, I had to scrape and scour to find these little issues. Overall it's well laid out and easy to navigate, and given that you're working with the colors of the scene, I think you put them together well. I enjoyed looking at the site and have my fingers crossed for 2005

the gay to z banner was in place when I viewed ... but you might want to make it a link as well as the text link underneath ... something people expect and in keeping with your other banners, bglad was still missing ... I liked the bottom bar ... but agree it could use a bit of space below to accent it ... the page you are on being in that small font is a bit disconcerting to the eye ... it distorts at that font size ... maybe a touch larger ... although the contrasting color and lack of underline makes it clear that is your current location ... maybe a sign up link on the pride 2004 page to recruit help in organizing the event on a more consistent basis would help ... nice use of pictures ... would like to see a bit more color to your pages ... maybe some more pics on a few more pages or some artwork

I would put at least one blank line between your bottom links and the status bar, would make it a little easier to read. I do like how your google ad fits the theme.

Hi

Not much to say that hasen't already been said, I like it and think the colour sceme works well. Have you thought about adding a coloured scroll bar see link for a simple but affective little number! you can change the colours of each element of the scroll bar and then cut and past the text into your style sheet.

took a look at the new site .. I like the color and layout .. looks cleaner and much more professional .. the link to bglad was still an x to me ... do you have it loaded to your server ?? that might help ... and I still think you should make that gay to z banner a link ... I just expect to be able to click a button or banner on a site and get to that info ... only thing I can think to add is you should create a footer for each page ( can be formated from your style sheet and a class you just cut and paste into each html file ) with your contact and copyright or organization information ... and redoing the text link section you had before at the bottom of the pages would be helpful .. and let you put in the link to your link page and other content not on the image map at the top of the page ... just my two cents ... but I think a professional site covers all it's bases when it comes to navigation ... you know ... the "if I can't find it in 3 clicks I am out of there" speed surfers or people who need to be led to things ...

all in all a great re-do ... 9 / 10
