I have recently started this blog and working on increasing it's PR and traffic, so please do not comment about that because I already know I have to.

Does my blog have potential? Etc..

One tip is if you want people to look at it, telling us it's "the spot for ads" probably won't help you with your goal. In case you haven't noticed, most people don't really like advertisements.

Yeah, ads make me and others turn away, we want to see a clean site when we look at it, its OK to have adverts just find way to work them in strategically.

I like the overall look of the page and how the ads dont get in the way of reading what you have to say

You bet! I am still learning the whole adsense thing myself, but I have got a few tricks that seem to work.
