Hi Folks

I have a design and a client which has a small landscaping business, and wants a small 5 page website,

Here is the URL of the Design http://www.tophatsolutions.ie/design/

Can you please tell me what you think on whether to go ahead with this design or throw it away and do up another one

Thanks
Stephen

I am new to web design, but I will still give you some constructive comments.

If you are just looking to make a very simple website than your template looks good. To me it is not that appealing to the eye. However, from a design perspective the layout look okay.

Ok, its very pretty, and it's very nice valid XHTML Strict.
The design is nice, but I think that just the flower is maybe too feminine and too limiting. Landscaping is a lot more than flowers - it's art, it's manicured lawns, carefully planned plantings of trees, shrubs, flowers, fountains, etc. See what I'm getting at ?

I wouldn't necessarily scrap the whole design, but change the stock art. I know.. that'll change your design to a degree.. you might have to rearrange.

thank you for your feedback, ye i did think it was a bit feminine alright, especially for a landscaper, i will have a look at changing the flower to something more landscaperish

I have changed the Pink flower at the top to a simple wheelbarrow, and at the last paragraph of the page i will incorporate an image that my client will give to me, hopefully (trying to get information of people is diabolical)

The wheelbarrow is a little overpowering.
It draws attention away from content.
Maybe have your eye candy inside the meat of your page.
Pictures of yards and actual landscaping are better.
Does your client have a portfolio?
Get some pics from them and use those in the design

Let me give you some designer tips for this template:
- It's good to have primary color, like you have green, but it's not to god to have it on every element, it's good idea to pick some color from header photo and to use it, in you're case, yellow (from the weal)
I do like the white color for the font on the title but not and the color used for menu,
best regards

Well, I know where you got your template from, heh, heh. A good template choice for the business, though. When I tried out your site, in IE, I did't have a scroll bar. Other than that, wish you well.
