I like it's clean and simple looking. Good quality photos. It takes a little too long to load the graphics the first time. I would love to see more sample photos or photos albums.

The font in the footer and graphics are different than the menu bar .. It looks a little bit busy.

Initial Opinion

Nice layout, very attractive. Not too much, not too little. Good for a photographer.

Design-wise

It's a really nice design. I rather like it. There are a few times when it looks a little cluttered, like on the gallery pages, but it's not that much. I like how it changes colors on different pages. Very nice. Simple and stylish.

Content-Wise

They're nice photos. Might I just suggest moving the footer down? It's so close to the content it's making a little bit of clutter.

Services

Your services come off very professional and good quality. Nice job on the presentation. Lots of example photos create a good portfolio of quality.

Overall

Not striving for anything new, but there's nothing wrong with your site. It's not a hall of fame one, but it's a good layout, nice presentation, and interesting content. Good Job.

Design-wise it's very nice, clean, and appealing.

Code-wise.. ACK! !!
It's mess of sliced images in tables - -which slows down the load time for each page and is just not modern web design. Tables should not be used for layout.

You have no DOCTYPE.

You're using the <embed> tag for your Flash - bad move. This will cause IE users grief when they get the 'click to activate' message and have to do the 2-click dance to even SEE your flash.

There are better ways to put flash on a page w/o the <embed> tag:

http://www.webmaster-talk.com/html-f...-from-ala.html

My personal preference is swfObject, it's pretty easy to implement, but any of those solutions will work better than what you have now.

Typography - too many fonts. The side menu, the top menu, the text.. all different, it looks like you couldn't make up your mind. Times New Roman isn't really a good web/screen font either.

It looks really nice, but takes ages to load. I suppose that#s cause everythings done using images and flash.

The code, however, is rather bad, You shouldn't use tables for layout! Also, little things - like your backgrounds, if they were 1px wide instead of 20px's they would be much faster to load so load quicker and not hog as much bandwidth.

Yeah, make the fonts a little less fancy and varied, I also agree about moving your footer down. All of these things will make your site look even nicer.

Others have covered your code issue, so I won't other than to suggest that if you want to learn more, the best way is to take it a piece at a time. Figure out how to do one thing without tables (like a small section of the site), then move on to the next section, and so on and so on.

My major issue with the site is that I can't find any large photos other than the ones embedded in the Flash animation. Two of those also look weird to me (something about the baby pic looks off and the wedding picture looks like someone pulled that "technicolour on a black and white photo" trick.) It's hard to tell how good a photographer "Heather" (I'm assuming that's her name) is without any other larger pics.

There has to be a way to work in larger pics into that layout. You can watermark them or whatever you like, but there has to be a way.

The other thing you'll have an issue with is that there is no text. I realize it's a photography site and therefore subject to "artistic interpretation" but next to no plain text = very little search engine indexing. You need some in there somehow. Having worked on a photographer's site a few years back, I know it's tricky, but it can be done.

Other than that, pretty well what everyone else said. It "looks" nice, but it needs some work.

I love the domain name! You need to move to Paris and open up shop there! I liked how the images changed every few seconds.

Now what I didn't like:

- There is no "About Us"
- There is no "Contact Us"
We see those things two topics so much that we are trained to look for it. Eventhough you have "Studio Info" which replaces "Contact Us"... it doesn't quite register in the head until you actually read it and click on it"

- I'm not too crazy about the background gradient. The gradient background tend to remind me of the Web in its older days.

-When I clicked on "Studio Info" it took me to another page and the logo as well as the menu jumped left about 15 pixels or so.

- I like how you have the top categories in black. It is easy to read. I don't like too much the menu you have on the left. I would prefer those words to be black as well and maybe smaller so the word "School Events" fits on one line.

I hope I didn't go overboard on the advice. Please feel free to butcher my site as well at www.SmoothieKingJohnsCreek.com

Use CSS but optional. Add meta tags, change font color and/or style. Don't use too much images.

Looks nice, I like the image changing on the homepage. I think it is a nice site I think an "about us" page would be a nice addition.
