Website Review and Suggestions

Well, the coloring is too similar, but I think that can be easily corrected. I think to me the biggest problem is the lack of hierarchy. The google ads to the right appear exactly as important as your main links in the center and to the left. You need to work on telling the user where they should go.

The thing with the colors is that I can't really use blue, red, orange, yellow, etc. I use to have a site that looked rather like a rainbow and I have learn't in my 6 years of web desiging that making a site with around 3 different colors tend to be the most professional designed type of sites. That's why youtube uses a few colors, which is the same with some other large sites.

Although, you say about the sites hierarchy that people don't know where to go for the main content, most people do seem to know as I am getting just nearly 5 pageviews per visitor on average, which is rather good for a webmaster type site that does not have a forums.

Also, I have to make the ads blend in so that they look like apart of the content so that it helps to get clicks on them and so that they don't look so much like ads. If people new they were ads or didn't bother clicking on them because I put them in a place that nobody could see them, then I wouldn't earn any money from the site.

Thanks for the comments, so far from my stats I have found that my pageviews per visitor has increased about 1/6 now that I have implemented a new and better design, so at least this design is working better than my last design that I used.

I have just looked at some of my competitor sites for the first time in a while and I am rather surprised how horrible alot of the affiliate directories are designed.

Some of them look very poor indeed, which is shocking, but really nice as their competitors afterall.

I don't think there's necessarily a problem distinguishing the Adsense from the main content of the page, but I think having both your left and right columns dedicated to Adsense seems a bit overkill.

The home page seems a bit long - there's a lot of content further down the page that I'm not sure if people will take the time to scroll down and read. It might be good to kill one of those columns of Adsense and replace it with an abbreviated version of that content that's currently further down.
