overall I like it - just a few of points:

- The bitmap edges need antialiasing (specially the tab edges)
- The tab text is not centered vertically within the tab
- Is there a reason for using bitmaps for the tab text and the headings? They seem pretty plain to me - why not use text?
- The bold body text is difficult to read
- The heading underline is too thick
- It would be nice for the banner to contain something else other than the logo - too much visible space to waste.

The reason for the images headings is that its a font I have downloaded and not many people will have it installed (if you no of another way I would be grateful).

The menu tabs are meant to be positioned where they are on the tabs.

The text looks find at my high resolution will have to take a look at a lower res.

What else would you suggest for the banner?

I have no suggestion for the font other then to use a 'standard' one and hope for the best.

I'm using a 1280x1024 resolution - which I'm guessing is more or less standard(?)

I think you should place links to news & announcements somewhere on your banner.

I would recommend changing your heading to Text. If you really want that font Use Flash and select device font. Google is working on SEO Flash Sites and it's much better then having an image.

The Font needs to be regular weight, It is coming over really strong espically with TrueType on.

Other than that I think it looks good

It is clean, simple and nice but you definitely have to play with the fonts. It looks off (maybe too big)?
