Website Review and Suggestions

My buddies and I started www.mojacity.com this past november. We had no clue what the hell we were doing when we started. None of us had ever ran an internet business had any clue on how to run an internet business or any sort of business for that matter.

Anyhow, our site is only in Toronto right now and it turns out it did quite well. We have on average 7,000 daily unique users and the revenue is fairly decent. We want to expand all across North America but before we do that we want to make sure that our site is flawless.

Please take a look and tell me what you think. In exchange I can tell you guys how I managed to get so many visitors in such a small period of time using two other popular websites. Just PM me.

I can say you'll meet with fierce competition in North America; especially since there's 100's of thousands of foreclosures going on across the United States ... but, if you think your site is "flawless", think again as it's not only a "Buyer's Market", but you have the following 51 code warnings to get right first:

thats xhtml errors mainly. you can ignore them unless you wanna make it all universal. of course that will help being flawless.
however I like the design of the site. cool job.

Site took a little while to load, just had the yellow bar at first.

I think you need to put a label next to your big search box at the top - I'm sure it seems very self-explanatory to you, but you don't want to make your visitors "think".

Can you find a better place to put that blog drop down? Not sure where, but it seems a little weird that it drops down on top of your 3 big menu options.

I think you should also explain why users should create an account - when you click the link, the create account page doesn't tell you what the benefits are of doing so. You have to figure that folks are getting increasingly paranoid about putting their personal info out there in forms, so say a little something about why they should.

Small thing, but update your copyright in the lower left corner for 2007.

I smell a rat...a big rat.

This is your first attempt at an Internet business, and yet you have a designer link at the bottom of your page.

Furthermore, the domain registration WHOIS info matches the WHOIS of the designer link:

Something smells fishy here. Mathieu, if you really are Mathieu, your'e about to get screwed. If you're not, and just using a nom de plume, then this isn't your first picnic.

I can't tell conclusively which of the two it is (I'm leaning toward the former, but not for sure). But something is very, very wrong here.

You're incorrect - NEVER ignore code errors / warnings for validation, because correcting them will ensure that your site displays properly in all browsers.
