The contrast on the site is rather dramatic, very dark and very light usually don't mix in website very well. You could think about using some light shade of gray instead of white, but it's not 100% necessary.
It might be good to make the square things also change color when the user hovers the cursor over the links at the navigation bar on the right. And I agree with Andy, the site could use a header image. It looks a bit empty at the moment. But again, this is a matter of taste, nothing very important.
There is some empty space at the lower right part of the white area. Why not add a few senteces to describe what the site is about?
The layout and the general feel of the site is very good but the site seems a bit too boxed, if you know what I mean. You could solve this by adding some content outside the main layout box, for example the copyrights under the box to the footer.
