Website Review and Suggestions

Hi, I have 2 sites for review. First a personal site then a project site.

I am moderately experienced web developer that has been doing this for less than a year. I do all of my own Graphics, animation, coding, and layout.

Please review these sites.

Overall all look is appealing and professional.

Here are some little things that I would change.
1. To much flash my eyes do not know what to watch first. Pick Just one.
2.Login button says page can not display
3. Digital Business Cards - goes to the wrong page
4. Database Driven - links all go to the wrong page
5. Check your site links

Well, on the first one, I had to way about 10 seconds for the flash animation to load, then when it did, there was only one part that actually had any movement to it. That is way too long to wait for that little bit of flash. My suggestion, make just the right side of that a flash animation, make the rest of it static. That will make your load time about 1 second instead of the 10 it was.

Other than that, the first site is excellent. Good work.

I am sorry, I do not have time to review the second one. I will try to get back to it later today if I can find time.

The first site:
Drop the intro animation, it's a perfect example of using Flash for the sake of using Flash. Besides, the quality of the intro is far below the quility of the site. You have a really professional looking site, but the splash page is the first thing your audience will see, and if its not very impressive there is a good chance they will not even bother to continue on to the actual site.

Beware of JavaScript menus! Search engines hate them! And the spiders/robots usually can't follow the links into the rest of your site, thus making your page appear to be a dead-end.

The second site:
Nice work, clean, professional, easy to use. The header might be a little too active with the 2 Flash elements, but other than that it looks great!

it is really good, but try to have me look at one place the whole **** thing is flashy so i dont know what to look at lol. pick one thing and make it stand out

I would recommend taking out the flash intro as this is also bad for SEO's. The site is about graphics, design and you want to have that "WOW" factor. I would recommend to break the mold of 800x600 and use tables, borders, bankground images to fill the site by adding more color and style.

Nice and professional nothing, no major problems. USeabiity the navigation seems really nice. But it advan is right could do with some WOW factor.

Well I have to agree with the last post. I know you state this site is still under construction, but my first thought was the links either do not work at all or they go to the wrong page. Other than that I think the look of the site is very good! However, way too much flash, should get rid of some of it.

I appreciate all of the input. I guess that I am a little flash heavy because I learned that before I learned web design, but I am not bad for my experiece, right!

i think the intro is kool. The music and the animation go hand-in-hand it is great, i had to replay the flash intro, but think that flash intro should replace some of the flash in the index page. i have to agree with some of the members, too much flash and some of the links do not work properly.

The personal website looks nice. But it takes a while to load on my connection (ADSL)
