make your <li> list on the homepage into two columns.
i dont' mind the margins, except the bottom--if you have margins, make them all the same.
you seem to be a little heavy on the picture side--nver a good thing.
you need just one or two things with really bright colors. and not as much black. changing the margins to white or another brighter color (or getting rid of margins) and adding some color--a nice yellow picture, or something, i think could help. its sort of goth right now.
