I agree with other posters: good for your first design.
However, I think there are some flaws with your design:
1) Animation up top is way too much. Try a smaller photo, instead. It makes your page load faster and makes it much more accessible.
2) Ditch those buttons. They look better suited for a more techy/glassy website. You could get away with plain green and white with a different mouseover state.
3) Change the background in the main content section to be a very very very subtle gradient or just pure white.
4) When you add an image to a page, do not just constrain its proportions via HTML (eg, dont take a 1280x1024 image and tell the HTML to display it as 100x100) actually take the time to resize it. Your slower-connection users will thank you!
5) Try to make the "for children", "for parents", and "for teachers" images on the homepage more consistent in size. You may also want to think about adding borders to them so that they stand out better from the background.
Great in terms of a first design though!
