Website Review and Suggestions

Hi all,

Could you give me your idea about this site i have built.

it is not totally finished, the homepage will have th company images and it will then change to pieces of art. Also the gallery is not yet complete.

What is the blue squares all about. It seems a bit of a waste of potential marketing space. Maybe add a few of the nice pics that are on the gallery here. The picture are so bright that they would attract a lot of attention on the home page againest white.

For some reason, i'm not liking the chunck of white space under the navigation.

Some of the pictures do not load.

The background seems tooo over attractive.

OMG! That just took me back 15 years. First images don't load. Second you shouldn't choose such a dark color for table background. You should change it to something like #cce1fd. Since your table is very simple. I could easily use css instead.

The blue square is going to be the company image once they send it to me, they will then flip over to images of artwork.

At the moment i am still waiting for the content of the site.

Thanks for your comment. i am not sure why the images wont load. are you using firefox?

What i learnt on webdesign was for college (about 10 years ago) I created the site in notepad.

I have been reading about css over the past day so look to start using it.

Well as tables are out and CSS is in i have attempted to follow the trend. only had my lunch time to do it but i like CSS so far.

The website is broken in firefox. You must make sure that your site works in multiple browsers since (according to W3C) 20 something percent of users are seeing your website in Firefox.

I suggest you redesign it using CSS (you have a good start there) and test it in multiple browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera, and Netscape should be good). I actually like the top header portion. Simple with a semi-attractive (at least to me) font-face.

Checkout the CSS and HTML categories to brush up on your old skills and learn some invaluable new ones! Good luck

I am using Firefox on an Apple, and the pictures don't load at all. All I see is a rather harsh blue background.

I am not too sure I like it,
and whats with those big squares? You could be making the site alot more interesting by using that space to show latest news or something... or ads!

as far as aesthetics are concerened, it's got a very outdated vibe. perhaps you want the old-school look? if not, i'd look into changing the font. Courior??? Comon.... Also, your gallery page is rather confusing...How does one navigate, aside from waiting for the images to scroll through?

To reiterate what others have said your site is completely broken in firefox.

Well i have redone the site in CSS (not uploaded but will be soon) Will CSS mean it will load in foxfire?

The blue squares are just there until i get the images from clients (1 week and they have still failed to send me the images)

I want to get the basic site sorted then I looking adding more content.

How would you bring it out of the ice age? The reason for it being plain is so it is like an art gallery, its more about the art than how much the site has on it.

with respect to the gallery I have not yet got around to it yet.
