I'm a real noob when it comes to this kind of thing. Please check out my site
www.therumdiaries.com

I know the ad background color looks funky but it was as close as ypn has. I don't know if Google has a better match I'll have to check later.

I like the page layout side from the fact it took forever to load. And I’m not to sure what the site is all about. It sounds interesting. Maybe a better description on what’s this site all about page.

Partial curiosity: are you getting paid well through YPN?

Also, if you want to change the background colour to any RGB value you want, just edit this line:

ctxt_ad_bc = "B7813A";

You can make any RGB colour you want from that.

I can't really comment on your content since I don't drink, but the site looks real purdy like. But your one post about The Morning After is hard to read.

Well Ypn ad targeting is crap, but the fall back is if you have a vary targeted site your ads will be spot on. If you have a site that covers a lot of topics. The site the ads will be all over, but they are usually local to the viewer of the page. The upside is it pays more then google. Say 1 click is .05 from Google I have never had an ad on any of my sites with ypn less than .30 a click. Also because of Google using smart pricing new site get like .02 cents a click at least in my experince. My personal opinion is that yahoo does not have as big of a pool of ads to select from. Once that pool grows the ad base will be better and improve the targeting .
These are jut my opinions I only have 5 sites so I'm a noob, and I have no formal training in making sites so I'm sure I am wrong but this is just the way I see it.

Thank you for you comments. The site is just a place for my friends or anyone else to post drinking stores. No real focus and not really geared to make money through ads. I just wanted to know what you guys would think about it.

Thanks Jason

It looks real good, actually. I like the dark background.

The only thing is that if you scroll down past a third or so, there's now a gap where the links/ads used to be which goes all the way down tho I'm not sure how to fix it.

****. Too bad I'm Canadian (I did some research and YPN is only open to the US). Ah well.

for a newbie, i think you have done very well on this site, i love the design, its very colour co-ordinated, i love the design, the only thing i can see which i think should be changed, is if you scroll half way down the page, you have some text which is in black, it doesnt stand out enough and is a little hard to read, so consider changing the colour so it matches the rest of your text.

well done.

For someone who calls themselves a noob its pretty good. A good deal of the sites I review here have over complicated colors and design. Your site has both a simple, attractive design and a nice color scheme (on the darker side of the spectrum).

Thank you very much for you complements It means more than you know. I took out the post that was in black. As for the coins they are from pirates of the Caribbean. As for the type font I can't seem to change it I tied script and it was hard to read because of the color. It must be because I just copy and paste the stories that people send me. that that type showed up black and I was unable to change it

Color and pictures, I am unaware or what is meant by clean it up I could remove all the ads if you guys think they look to tacky.

as for the black line you were talking about it is a problem with my footer. I will be making a new one in photo shop tomorrow ( paint just is not cutting it) It will be my first attempt at photo shop but I found some good tutorials on the web. I would do the today but I spent about 11 hours doing another site yesterday and just cant look at code right now.

Thank you very much. If there is anything else that you guys feel needs addressed please feel free to post ad I will fix it.

Thanks again Jason

One thing i can say, is be careful where you get your images from. I make almost all my images from scratch now, or edit them beyond recognition to avoid problems. I say this because you mentioned getting some images from the movie? That could go bad.
