The use of colors is very limited in my opinion, too gray and the shades of blue are too bright and are not in harmony with the shades of gray. Especially the link colors are too bright, they are almost impossible to read on my system.

The graphics on the template look rather cheap, again, only my opinion. But the basic layout and navigation seem ok to me.

The colour is up to the user to change mate And the web design is free to use (if you want to use it and remove the copyright at the bottom give me a nice big link to www.bwd.se) for bwd members.. Just donwload and edit away. Read the readmefile included in the download file.

I'm also selfthought in both grafics and html/css.

Layout is good though I would agree with others here that the colors and images leave something to be desired. Nonetheless it's great to see someone offering free layouts - thanks for contributing this.

Too dark, I don't like this color scheme. And top banner have a too hight contrast with common color face. I think this is a new way of layout.

I like the simplicity of the website and how clean it is.

You could remove the border on the top images / links to get rid of the nasty standard purple / blue borders.

I am not entirelly sure on the top images also as I think some nicer buttons could make the site look a lot better.

nice layout. Not too sure about the large images though it may take a while to load on slow connection. Also they take up a lot of room.

Thank you all for your suggetions. Im not sure about the image icons anymore tbh. They ended up there as a test to learn opacity. Now the lesson is learned and I think they're history, haven't decided yet

I don't really care for the gray, they website is too dark in general. I don't really care for the bevel and emboss on the banner either.

I do like the idea of those icon buttons though.

nice to get your thoughts about it... Buttons are a bit ugly.. but the idea is good. About bev and emboss.. Its not emboss or bev.I drew them like that ( tried emboss but I dident like the white frame it make on the opposit side.).. The Icons is another story though, they have emboss.. and more

Now im working on another template for a friend. Going to make it white and ligt grey(like silver) and a few splashes of colour here and there. Hope it will come out fine. Maybe ï'll put it up for review.. if I dare :P

The banner needs to go.
Looks like something designed in early 90s.
The icons boxes aren't too attractive either.
The navigation is ok.
I like your content boxes for text. But they are missing a top and bottom border, may be a padding issue.

Sorry to rip the design. It at least has a concept.
But your designs are a little outdated.

1st off, don't run a web design company when your, well... you know... bad at web design.

Don't get me wrong, looking over your site shows you definately have potential and you are interested in learning, which is the most important part.

Start off with looking around at good designs, notice similarities between different pages

Get a good graphic program if you dont already (Photoshop) and read web design based tutorials

Start with a design, if you get stuck, close it and don't save. Rebuild up to that point, doing different stuff a long the way, then go past where you were stuck before. Keep doing that a few times and watch how a project evolves. Don't use prior versions as a reference at all, except in your head.

Thats how I started anyway.

I'm not trying to be a jackass or anything, and I encourage you to stick with it.

I dont run a company at all, I have it as a hobby and hand out my progress to people if they are interested, and yes im very eger to learn( thats why im here ) I have got some really useful info/pointers from some people at this forum. It may look like Bennys Web Design Is a company but its just the name of my site.. it felt right when my name is Benny

too much gray used imo. try adding some color to it, that cyan on the top doesn't look good i'm afraid :\ try also improve the coding, you can make the site load much faster.
