Please have a look at my site www.diivino.com and be as critique as possible and....if possible could you tell me how can I use my logo as a background ?
I made it just playing around with DW and flash, thanks to many tutorials and help from forums like this.
the meta tags part is not mine and i had it recently checked and I found out that there are many errors and also I am not getting any ranking. The person who did that would like me to pay him......what do you think? Should I ?? ahahahahah
can I eventually change the Meta? and if I do it how can I do it? should I chance it in every page....I have got many.
thank you in advance
thomas

hi, i really like it, simple and clean with decent content - no ads or anything though? as for logo as background (if you reeeeally must) best way of course is using CSS, something like, background-image : url(Images/logo.jpg); - if in a style sheet

I Greg,
thanks for replying, what do you meen for if I relly must, don't you think is a nice idea?
I was thinking.......because I don't know where to put my logo......I thought.....maybe if I use it as a backgroud (like some company letters) I don't know how to explain it,something that you can see but at the same time allows to read what is written on the page.
The css thing....how do you do it??
thank you once again

Your site looks great as it is, well done. Really, I like it.
Stop worrying about how it looks now, and start worrying about how many visitors you have, and whether they are finding the content they desire.
Best of luck!

Your site looks good, I don't see any obvious problems with it. The color scheme is also good, as is the use of graphics.
But the navigation is a bit strange. First of all, why is the sitemap the very first item on the navigation link list? It's usually the last, or only at the footer.
Secondly, what's the single most improtant thing on a restaurant website? The menu, isn't it? It's rather difficult to find from your site. You should highlight it more.
Also, what's the point of the "Thursday, June 7, 2007 home" text? Is it the current date or the last updated date? What's up with the "home" there?
I would highly recommend you to remove the public visitor counter from your site. Also, why do you have the word diivino bolded every single time? You could just have it bold once.
You should consider making the list ( Our services include ...) as a bullet point list. Lists made with commas are difficult to read, but bullet point lists are easy and grab the attention of the visitor.
What's the point with the "Webmaster resources" link in your site?
You should also think about having some of your testimonies right on the front page with a Read More ... link to the testimonies page. You have plenty of free space in the front page, don't be shy to use it.
Your link style is a bit confusing. It's pretty much impossible to know that the "italian eating stories" text just above the visitor counter is actually a link without moving your mouse over it. I would recommend you to use underlined links.
One last thing, the copyright text at the footer is very small, too small. It looks like something you don't want the visitor to read.

wow,
thank you very much to all of you, very good responses and suggestions.
JV, your detailed reply is very useful, because I am not a very literate designer or programmer, would you be so kind to give me a step by step lesson on how to make the changes? or could you send me the link to some easy tutorials?
meta
PublisherForYou,you are right, I should concentrate on drag traffic to my site if this is what you meant.i have a problem reguarding this, I had the meta tags checked and there are far too many errors and I don't know if this could be the reason for a poor traffic. Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks once again to all of you and ......if there is anything you all want to add...please feel free to do so.

I would suggest you to actually take out the underlined links, but change the style of the link text a little. Then on rollover make it underline. I always think a site looks more professional like this.

Im not a fan of that tan color, but the red is ok.
Try running a gradient on the background, it will spice it up a bit.
Maybe work on the logo, make it more symmetrical?

I wouldn't change anything. Looks superb.
I would concentrate more now on the SEO end and marketing your website to gain more traffic.

Just letting you know that the bullets in your services include are on the wrong side of your dividing line in Firefox. IE7 it's correct.

Hey, it is not really a bad site, but in my opinion it's average because, of the quality of graphics. Regards.

thank you for all your critique, I really apreciate them, I must say.....could you please be more specific and maybe give me some hints on how to make the changes? for now I am just a novice with a passion for design websites, i don't have much time to spend on the book or on the web to look for tutorials, I woudn't want you to do my job, I just would like hints and links to easy tutorials. For example I would like to create a nice navigation bar with flash, but I don't know how to load it.
Alikat told me that the bullet points don't appare correctly on firefox but I don't know how to fix it, and the same for the SEO thing,I know that there are many errors in the META TAGS but I don't know how to fix them, too. Can someone advise me?
thank you once again

I really like the colors, maybe if you add a gradient for it, it will look better. the structure is pretty simple, and it's not a bad thing
about the coding, it's a little broken on firefox, try fixing it.
overall, good job but there is still a little work needed
