Website Review and Suggestions

I would like some help with CuteMachines.com, from some kind active people, the follow are required:

2 x Tutorials writer: Photoshop, Gimp, Flash.
2 x Articles writer: Writes articles about web software.
3 x Support team: Helps members with coding problems.
1 x Moderators: Moderates forums, matainence of posts.

Here a little about the forums,

CuteMachines.com – A new webmasters community, we will be supplying a vast amount of website guides, offering support forums on installing those popular online applications, giving you simple to understand step by step information, website design discussions and tutorials for the top designing software’s on the market, achieve what you are looking for, here at the friendly webmasters community at CuteMachines.com. We are new on the block, but don’t let that stop you.

We have plenty of features planned but take a look at the things we have that will make you want to stay even longer at CuteMachines.com, exclusively members only Shout box, where you can communicate with other members instantly and a Quality arcade packed full with games to play. To use the Arcade, you require a minimum of 10 posts in total before you can play them.

the website is pretty simple (and nice),
add a header graphic to it though. its too empty on top

With the title Cute Machines, I was hoping to find something that would at least reflect the title. SMF is very customizable, and I think you should definitely take advantage of that. I've seen some gorgeous forum designs that have been built with SMF's base.

I think it would definitely be more aesthetically pleasing if you set up a design that wasn't a default template. Give your viewers some pleasure and pride when they view this site. Set it apart from other communities in the same branch of yours, that use SMF. Give it a unique brand!

I realize that this is a new forum, so you're going to have to really work hard to make it into something people will be interested in and will want to continue to stay there and be an active member, especially if they're already apart of an already-active community.

Also, with the header graphic you should consider using different typography for it. The machines part is fine, but I think you should really play on the word 'Cute,' and use a cute font for it. There is also way too much empty space to the right of the header. Either center it, or make it larger so that it fills up more of the space.

Maybe you can also consider downsizing the width of the forum. I'm sure you've got a fluid width set up for it, but it's far too stretched on my 19" Widescreen which outputs a 1440x900 resolution. Sometimes it's a drag having to read text that's stretched from one end of the forum to another (quite like this forum right now

)
