Website Review and Suggestions

Hello,
I am working on the web-page for my English learning book. Can any experienced artist give me opinion about the following. Is layout good
enough? What background for text is the most suitable? What should I change? Should I use more graphics? Should I insert material in the right column? There are examples on

I use Dreamweaver CS3 and Fireworks MX 2004. I would not like to use FLASH because many people switch it off. I'll appriciate any suggestion,

The layout seems fine to me - though you should maybe make the logo a bit more prominant (bigger). As for the background, text is always more legible with a plain background but I prefer the layout on the first telessons.html so if you alter that to remove the horizontal stripes it should work a lot better. You are focus too much on a background. Keep it simple. Don’t use any kind of textures. Just put black on white or some other solid color. Also, use Arial (or some other non-serif) font, not Times New Roman

Also, put the word in quotes; it will make it seem like there is someone talking.
